Sleep that no longer comes easily, moods that swing without warning, anxiety or low feelings arriving out of nowhere, and a quiet sense that you no longer quite recognize yourself.
I work with women moving through perimenopause, menopause, and the wider changes of midlife, along with the anxiety, low mood, burnout, and shifts in identity that so often come with them. Before becoming a therapist I spent eighteen years as a nurse, and that background gave me deep respect for how closely hormones, sleep, and emotional health are connected. Together we make sense of what is happening and use practical, evidence-based tools to help you feel steadier, more rested, and more like yourself again.

Hi, I’m Anastasia. I help adults who feel held back by anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm in their career, relationships, and everyday life. You may look calm and capable on the outside, while inside you are overthinking, overplanning, worrying about how others see you, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions.

If challenges at work or home are impacting your functioning (e.g. poor sleep, difficulty thinking, more arguments in relationships), it's time to get it assessed.
In particular, if you want a non-medicated approach for sleep issues, we offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i). We can also help with figuring out what's keeping you stuck in other key areas and create a plan to get unstuck. We are clinical psychologists with 40+ yrs experience: Jennifer Kwong, MA, CPsych and Dr. Susan Fantinato, PsyD.

I know firsthand how heavy life can feel when you’re used to managing things independently, and I bring that knowledge into my work. I believe healing happens through connection and safety to be yourself—with me, you don’t have to perform, filter yourself, or figure it all out alone. I offer a steady, collaborative space where you can slow down, make sense of what's heavy, and feel understood. I support people navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship patterns like people-pleasing and self-abandonment. Together we can shift these tendencies by exploring what you feel, what you need, and what blocks your self-expression.

I am an autonomous Registered Psychologist with over 12 years of clinical experience. I work with individuals navigating a range of challenges including anxiety, low mood, ADHD and attention difficulties, OCD, trauma, chronic stress, and interpersonal concerns. Many of the people I support are high-functioning on the outside but internally feel disorganized, overwhelmed, burnt out, or unsure why everyday tasks feel harder than they should. They are seeking clarity, practical tools, and a better understanding of how their mind works so they can feel calmer, more confident, and more present in their relationships and daily life.

Many people come to therapy feeling like they’ve been talking about the same problems for years without anything really changing. If therapy has ever felt like going in circles, my approach might feel different. I take a practical and collaborative approach focused on creating real, sustainable change. Our work together isn’t about endless processing or clinical jargon. It’s about understanding the patterns that keep showing up in your life and building tools that actually help you move forward. If you’ve been thinking about therapy but aren’t sure where to start, reaching out for a consultation is a good first step.

Are you tired of living in "survival mode"? Either feeling chronically unsettled or inexpressibly low and numb! Perhaps, something feels missing; an emptiness you can’t quite put your finger on! There comes a time when just getting by is not enough and we can no longer hide behind a smile. Change begins when we decide that "waiting for the pain to dissipate" is no longer an option. So what if you could take back control of your life and live unchained by your history? How far would you thrive if you could tailor a life of your own design, uninterrupted by stress, anxiety or pain stories?

Many of the individuals I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or struggles with self-esteem. They may feel caught in patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, avoidance, or disconnection from themselves and others. I support clients in making sense of what they are experiencing and developing new ways to cope, relating to themselves, and responding to life’s challenges.

***ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: IN-PERSON & PHONE/VIDEO*** We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We have helped individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. We do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. You might wonder if it will help, if it’s worth it, or if anyone will truly understand you. I know what it’s like to sit in the client’s chair, feeling vulnerable yet hopeful, sharing the deepest parts of yourself while navigating the uncertainty of what comes next. My own experience shapes how I show up for you—with compassion, openness, and a commitment to creating a space where you can truly be yourself.

Let’s get to the root of your triggers. We cannot thrive when our nervous system remains trapped in patterns of fear, self-protective walls and the echoes of the past! Chronic tension, anxiety & trauma disrupt our sense of safety, trust, and control in the world. It can leave us feeling isolated, disconnected, and caught in a painful cycle where old wounds continue to shape new relationships. Root-cause therapy focuses on resolving the unprocessed experiences that fuel these patterns. By healing at the source, you can neutralize fears, soften long-held insecurities, release old wounds, and live with greater freedom and connection.

Accepting New Clients (in-person and virtual). Do you often find yourself feeling overwhelmed by expectations, responsibilities, or a constantly busy mind? Maybe you feel stretched thin, unsure of what you’re feeling, or find it hard to slow things down. I support individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, and stress. You may already sense what’s been weighing on you - the thing you’ve been pushing aside because it feels too big or because other things take priority. Together, we begin to unpack this in a way that feels meaningful and realistic, while recognizing that some discomfort is part of creating real, lasting change.

Sleep or Insomnia Counsellors
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
