Anger Management Therapists in Vaughan, ON
A lot of the time, our first instinct is to seek support when we may feel we are drowning in our current struggles. The first step is always the hardest, in where we fear we will not be understood. My belief is that because each one of us is unique, our struggles and thus our journey in healing will be too. I aim to be an anchor in these turbulent times and be a beacon of unfiltered, unconditional and non-judgemental space in exploring our internal processes. In collaboration, we can address motivational, acceptance, behavioural, cognitive, social, biological and cultural aspects that can work in tandem in maintaining our struggles.

Do you often feel stuck or weighed down by self-doubt?
On the outside, you seem put together, but inside, it’s constant second-guessing. You overthink conversations, worry you’ve said the wrong thing, and when emotions finally surface, anxiety turns into frustration or withdrawal. Afterward, guilt sets in, and you wish you could explain what was really going on underneath. You try to stay calm, kind, in control—not a burden—but the pressure builds, and you’re left wondering, “What’s wrong with me?” If this resonates, therapy can help.

I believe every individual is the expert on their own lives, and that each has innate strengths to draw upon. I have helped people grow, notice patterns, and gain insights, and thereby, to reclaim control of their lives. I appreciate that the past plays a big role in shaping who we are and how we view and manage situations, and so I respect each person’s upbringing, experiences, and differences: these make us unique! As such, I recognize no single model or intervention works for everyone – there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead, I tailor sessions and interventions for you and your specific issues, experiences, and needs.

If you are man wrestling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, or something else, we can help you map out the ideal version of yourself, and help you get there.
You have a deep-seated feeling that you are meant for greater things – a feeling that given the right environment, and the right circumstances, you can thrive. But you haven’t quite experienced this yet in reality, and for one reason or another, life hasn’t yet “come together” as well as you thought it should have. Either your relationships haven’t progressed or you haven’t found satisfaction at work — or both! As a result, your days are stressful, exhausting, and it feels like this cycle of defeat and disappointment won’t end. But the cycle can end.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, stuck in painful relationship patterns, or navigating a life transition that has left you feeling lost or disconnected. You might struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, or emotional reactivity that feels hard to control or explain. In relationships, communication may break down quickly, leading to conflict, distance, or trust issues — even when you care deeply. You may be looking for a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and begin making sense of what’s happening.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
