The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

Welcome! My name is Jennifer and I am a reformed intellectualizer who now helps couples and individuals through body-based psychotherapy. Many of my clients feel disconnected from their bodies, whether this be because of pain (chronic or sexual), burnout, trauma, or emotional numbing. It can be impossible to feel sometimes. While our bodies are smart and have adapted to our environments, there is also a way to reconnect and heal.

Is your life consumed by obsessive thoughts that don’t feel like your own? Do you spend hours checking appliances, cleaning, or making sure you look “just right” before leaving the house? Have you stopped enjoying activities you love or avoid people you care about for fear you’ll harm them? These are signs of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)—relentless, isolating, and exhausting. For many, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) creates a similar weight: an overwhelming focus on flaws that reassurance or mirror-checking never eases.

You might find yourself having the same conversations over and over in your relationship, feeling stuck, frustrated, or disconnected. You care deeply, but something isn’t working and you don’t know how to change it. Maybe you’ve tried to talk it through, give space, or keep the peace, but the same patterns keep coming back. It can feel exhausting to stay in that cycle, wondering if things will ever shift. You don’t have to keep doing this alone.

The patterns that keep repeating, the relationships that keep breaking down the same way, the experiences that never quite got resolved. None of it appeared out of nowhere. It has roots, and understanding those roots is where real change actually begins. For individuals, that means finally making sense of what's been driving things beneath the surface. For couples, it means getting underneath the conflict to what the relationship is actually carrying. People do find their way through this. They rebuild. They reconnect with themselves and with the people they love. I work with individuals and couples who are ready to do that work.

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to carry everything you’re holding? Maybe it’s anxiety that doesn’t quiet down, the effects of trauma that still linger, or challenges in your relationship or self-worth that feel hard to name but impossible to ignore. If you're feeling disconnected from yourself, or weighed down by your experiences, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy can be a place to put some of that weight down and reconnect with who you are and where you want to go. You deserve to feel less burdened, more understood, and more connected to yourself and the life you want to live.

Males young and old experience anxiety, depression, trauma and other mood issues, though are less likely to seek help. ADHD and LD’s disproportionately affect males, disrupting their goals and relationships. Young males must navigate contradictory messages about what it means to be a man while managing their own emotional health. These issues tend to be at their worst during transitional life stages, such as changing schools, entering the workforce, middle life, and in new relationships.

Do you have a story you feel you need to share with someone? Maybe it’s your first time opening up, or maybe you tried before, but just never quite felt heard. If there’s something inside of you that needs telling, I’m here to hear you out. I often work with clients who suffer from depression, trauma, anxiety and relationship issues. I can also be particularly helpful to clients who’ve felt they haven’t gone deep enough in therapy, who tend towards dissociation or intellectualization, or who find themselves between cultures—immigrants, children of immigrants, people from interfaith families, and “third culture kids.”

Dr. Kelly is the Clinical Director of The Mindfulness Clinic. He cares that you get good help. He knows about the frustration of seeing a not-so-good therapist. And, he understands how wonderful it can be to work with the right therapist. That is why he is very picky about hiring therapists. He has a small team of therapists he knows and trusts. Our Intake Team will take time to understand your needs and goals, and they will get you started with the right therapist. If we do not have the right therapist for you, we will tell you. This is rarely necessary, but it can happen. Contact to our Intake Team. They will help you.

Providing a balance of support and challenge, my approach to healing is holistic and comprehensive. I believe that each individual has all of the inner resources they need to achieve a sense of balance and equanimity. My role is merely to provide a safe, non-judgmental container in which they can reach their own integration - cognitively, emotionally and somatically. I aim to assist the individual's journey-making process through offering new ways at looking through the lens which often gets obscured by many mitigating factors. Clarity is the goal.
