Let's be honest: your messy, sleep-deprived and emotionally charged version of family life doesn’t match the picture-perfect portrayals of parenting we often see.
I provide a filter-free, judgement-free space to quiet the conflicting advice and societal pressure, and focus on what really matters - you feeling better. Sessions with me bring deep compassion and expertise where we can unpack all that you are carrying, reconnect with your values, and overcome the stress and self-doubt that comes with modern parenting.

I work with parents looking to understand their own childhood experiences and how it impacts their parenting and I provide support to parents who need additional strategies to assist their children.
Life is full of transitions, obstacles, and emotional complexities that can at times feel impossible to navigate alone. Are you struggling with difficulties in relationships, trauma, anxiety, or depression? Many of our struggles are rooted in past experiences, beliefs we’ve developed about ourselves, or patterns we’ve carried for years. By bringing curiosity and self-compassion to these patterns, we can begin to untangle the barriers that keep you feeling stuck. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in uncovering the inner wisdom and resilience that already exist within you.

I help clients seeking support in many areas including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, parenting, and more.
I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership between a client and their therapist, a journey that both partake in to work toward a common goal: to help bring a greater sense of well-being to the client. And although I hold a set of therapeutic tools, I believe people are the experts in their own life.

I work with folks around trauma, parenting and people-pleasing.
If you are ready to dive into your healing journey - to understand the patterns and where, why and how you are stuck, and how to get unstuck - then I might be the therapist for you. My approach is different - I offer longer therapy sessions (90-minute sessions or longer) so that we can get to the deep healing work that is often required for you to make the shifts that you want for yourself. We go at the pace you need but with longer sessions we tend to get there more quickly, allowing you to get on with your life in the ways that align with your values, goals and vision for yourself.

Issues regarding parenting, family relationships, as well as intergenerational trauma are also among my main specialties.
In today’s world, it’s easy to fall into a survival mode, when what we'd like is to thrive. If you have reached this page, you’ve done half the work. You’ve acknowledged that a part of you deserves more space. Whether you have specific goals in mind, or don’t know yet where to begin, I’m happy to embark on the exploratory journey with you that is psychotherapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy relies on the hypothesis that part of our mental life is governed by the unconscious. We internalize a lot in the course of our development, and some of it may not feel quite right anymore.

My training and areas of practice include CBT, DBT skills, Psychodynamic/Trauma informed, Parenting, Couple/Family therapy, Group work.
The reasons for pursuing counselling are as unique as the individual seeking it out. There could be questions around an emerging identity, a difficult relationship or social issue, a separation/divorce or a child’s school difficulties or emotional distress. Whatever the presenting issue is for clients, there is most often over- whelming feelings of worry, sadness and confusion.

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
