I work with parents looking to understand their own childhood experiences and how it impacts their parenting and I provide support to parents who need additional strategies to assist their children.
Life is full of transitions, obstacles, and emotional complexities that can at times feel impossible to navigate alone. Are you struggling with difficulties in relationships, trauma, anxiety, or depression? Many of our struggles are rooted in past experiences, beliefs we’ve developed about ourselves, or patterns we’ve carried for years. By bringing curiosity and self-compassion to these patterns, we can begin to untangle the barriers that keep you feeling stuck. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in uncovering the inner wisdom and resilience that already exist within you.

Do you find yourself asking, "How do I get past this?" The number one struggle people often express when they talk about their emotional pain is feeling stuck. If you are experiencing an inability to move forward in your career, relationship or you are struggling to find the joy in life you once felt, you may be experiencing the effects of unresolved trauma or unmet attachment needs. This can manifest in physical symptoms such as chronic pain, headaches, and fatigue. We take the time to understand you as a person who has a lived experience that has brought you here.

You may be highly capable and deeply dedicated, yet still feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected at home, and stretched between the roles you hold as a parent, partner, and professional.
I meet you where you are, and together we attend to whatever feels urgent. We explore how your past, your relationships, and internal experiences have shaped your identity, relationships and parenting today. By bringing awareness to these dynamics, we create space for more intentional, regulated, and connected ways of relating to whatever feels out of reach.

Many of the clients I work with are navigating significant life changes such as entering young adulthood, navigating early childhood parenting or seeking to align their sense of self to their core values.
I have a keen understanding of the complexities of inter-cultural relationships, immigrant family dynamics, or growing up in-between two (or more!) cultures. By empowering you to face challenges, guided by what matters most to you, I bring a culturally responsive and attachment-based approach, using evidence-based models to support client-led change.

I support parents, teens, and families who want to reduce conflict, and feel more connected.
I help families build skills they can use to communicate more clearly and in healthier ways. I focus on practical strategies such as mindfulness to slow down reactions during tense moments, and distress tolerance strategies to de-escalate hard conversations. We can also talk about how to repair relationships after conflict.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
