I have particular experience supporting clients with eating disorders, OCD, and somatic concerns, and I am committed to providing affirming, thoughtful care for 2SLGBTQ+ clients.
I believe that lasting change begins with feeling genuinely understood. My approach to therapy centres on building a strong, collaborative relationship — one where you feel safe to explore difficult emotions, examine the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop real skills for navigating life's challenges. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed a CPA-accredited residency with Nova Scotia Health Authority. I have over ten years of experience providing psychotherapy across healthcare, university, and private practice settings, and I am licensed in both Ontario and Quebec.

I have helped individuals with issues such as anxiety, OCD, insomnia, ADHD, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and difficult emotions.
Are you feeling stuck? Many see therapy as an intimidating space with one-sided conversations and a professional who analyzes you from behind a clipboard. I see therapy as a space where we meet as two flawed human beings and try to work at things together. I want to help you get unstuck from painful thoughts and feelings that are getting in your way and help you find meaning. I will do my best to understand what matters to you and what gets in your way. We will learn practical ways to overcome your obstacles.

I support individuals and couples across a wide range of concerns, primarily centring on OCD, complex trauma, dissociation, chronic shame, emotional dysregulation, and long-standing relational patterns.
I welcome all, and am passionate about working with other 2SLGBTQ+, disabled, and/or neurodivergent folks. As someone who shares identities in these communities, I understand the weight of navigating healthcare systems that aren't always designed for us. It means a lot to be trusted, and I’ll always do my best to meet you with care, respect, and attunement.

I help individuals navigate the constant tug-of-war with trauma, anxiety, and OCD.
Growing up in an East Asian cultural context, I experienced firsthand how family, social, and cultural influences can shape the way we think about ourselves and the world. These influences are not “right” or “wrong,” but they don’t always align with each person’s unique needs and values. They can make it easy to overlook your own feelings, prioritize others’ expectations, or struggle with self-doubt and difficulty expressing your true needs. Having gone through this myself, I deeply empathize with these challenges.

OCD is usually a life-long (chronic) disorder; however, as a therapist with lived experience, I have personally overcome it and so have many of my clients over the years.
We will first focus on reducing and ultimately stopping your compulsions, which are driving the disorder. There will be a strong emphasis on stopping the rumination cycle as well as learning to process and go through many of the hidden and disguised emotions that are happening beneath the surface. We will also focus on transcending your pain into purpose.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
