Throughout my life, I have negotiated what it means to be queer and Muslim , to feel and be seen as different, both to myself and the world. This lived resistance informs my commitment to serve 2SLGBTQ+ communities through an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, decolonial, and intersectional lens. I work with addictions, anxiety, depression, gender/sexuality, life transitions, mood, newcomers and refugees, palliative care, people living with HIV, racial trauma, sex and intimacy, and substance use/misuse (including PnP/chemsex and crystal meth use). If you don't see your experience mentioned here, please reach out to chat further!

I am fluent in Arabic and have worked extensively with Muslim families and specifically women.
We all have a unique journey that adds value to who we are and how we can contribute every day. My personal journey took me down some challenging paths that required me to find new hope and build from the ground up. I feel that the hardships, challenges and triumphs I have endured can inspire and bring hope to others. I believe that through the toughest times of our lives, there is always a silver lining.

Everyone goes through a lot in their lives, and at some point it becomes too much to manage alone. I’ve been there, and now I want to help you work through whatever is ‘too much’ for you too. I offer a safe and judgment-free space for you to find support, healing, and improved quality of life and relationships. Living in two multicultural cities, my addiction recovery coaching background, and a bio-psycho-social lens, significantly impact how I see individual struggles, and the transformative process of therapy.

It can be challenging sometimes to find our inner beacon to define where we want to go or determine the steps to getting there. I will work with you as a partner, a team player, to come to your truth and carve out the path that you want to take, so that life becomes a little more manageable or fulfilling.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Toronto are psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualized treatment.

Services offered, education and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Toronto then may specialize in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counseling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.

Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.

How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in Toronto, or Child Psychologists in Toronto.

Many find it useful to use filters to view only psychologists that have experience working with certain issues, like Toronto psychologists specializing in EMDR.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Psychologists in Toronto specialize in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), among others. Finding a psychologist or therapist who is a good fit for you is the most important step to discovering what type of therapy, or combination of therapeutic approaches, will meet your individual needs. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

How to use my insurance?
Many therapists accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the therapist.
