My practice supports adults and students from diverse backgrounds, with particular experience working alongside racialized, immigrant, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities as they navigate identity, career exploration, and life transitions.
Your experience matters here. Life can feel overwhelming when navigating relationships, work, school, or new environments, especially when identity and systemic barriers are part of that experience.

Hi—I’m Sarah, a therapist with ADHD who supports adults with ADHD (with a deep personal history of supporting minds like mine!). The clients I see typically arrive running on empty, crushed by the demands of life, the tension they feel to hit them, and the burden of the identities they've either accepted or fled from their whole lives. So many are privately afraid of people 'seeing through' the real them, but wearing the armor they hide under has left them anxious, depleted, stuck, and deeply isolated. My hope is that you've arrived at my corner of the web and thought: "what if there is another way." I'm here to help you come home.

You may be getting through your days, meeting responsibilities, and appearing “fine” to others — while privately feeling overwhelmed, tense, self-critical, or emotionally exhausted. People reach out when stress, anxiety, burnout, or self-doubt start to take a toll, even though they’ve always been capable and high-functioning. I’m a clinical psychologist who works with adults navigating pressure, high expectations, and periods of personal or professional strain. People I work with often feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, emotional reactivity, or constant internal pressure, and want support that goes beyond surface-level coping.

You wake up every morning to go to work, but you come home exhausted, you lack energy to do the things you want to do, and you’re afraid to admit you’re unhappy in your career.
You feel it deep within. A desire for something to change, for things to get better, for clarity and something new. But you also feel stuck, anxious about the unknown, and worried you’ll never experience more meaning and fulfillment in your life. You have no idea what to do.

Are you frustrated, confused, tired and maybe even lost? You find yourself standing in front of your goal, and yet, it doesn’t feel like you’ve arrived. You look around and wonder, “Who am I, did I take a wrong turn somewhere?". You’re surrounded by strangers and you don’t even recognize yourself, because you spent your whole life hiding parts of yourself to fit in and creating new parts to fit in. It turns out that your goals may have been fueled by survival, not desire.

I work with short-term clients seeking support during brief life transitions such as career, relationship changes, quarter-life and mid-life crises, and burnout prevention.
Are you a high-achieving professional struggling to cope with anxiety? Do you feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities? Despite the successes, a part of you continues to worry about the next thing. To others you might look like you’re doing well, but on the inside you’re struggling. Perhaps you’ve even tried thinking more positively but nothing changes. That persistent stuck feeling is making it hard to relax. It might even feel like your relationships are beginning to suffer. As a former lawyer, I have felt similar pressures.

Career Guidance Counsellors
How do I know if I need career counselling?
Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?
Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?
The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?
Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
