Struggling with focus, anxiety, big emotions, or feeling stuck in patterns that won't shift through talk alone? I work with children, teens, and young adults whose brains feel "too loud"; those with ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety, or trauma histories who haven't found lasting change through traditional therapy. Parents come to me when their child is bright but dysregulated, struggling at school, or shutting down. My team blends neurofeedback, qEEG-guided brain training, CBT, and immersive VR-based regulation tools so clients don't just understand their challenges, their nervous system actually learns a new way to operate.

We are a diverse team of over 90 licensed and experienced therapists! We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We help individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

Many clients who show up are often feeling dissatisfied with something in their lives - whether it relates to themselves or something around them. They often come looking for potential directions when they are unsure of where to go or what to think of next, or if they find themselves stuck in between seemingly impossible choices. I have helped my clients by providing a space where they can safely reflect on their experiences. They are further empowered by discussing and exploring different perspectives related to their thoughts, beliefs, and feelings, and how these play a role in their lives which helps their personal growth.

In starting therapy or returning to it, you may be seeking someone to talk to, psychological perspectives, tools and resources, and change. You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or any of the long list of names given to conditions we can struggle with. My approach is client-centered as you are the expert on you, and I prefer to not pathologize and stigmatize. My perspective is that there are causes and contributors to the thoughts, feelings and behaviours which we find most difficult, and which can become traits and labels - and yet also - which can be changed.

Neurofeedback & Trauma Therapy: The impacts of trauma rewire the brain and nervous system to experience the world as a threatening place. This adaptation alters how we relate to ourselves and others, and it leads us away from authentic identity. Trauma includes events like past childhood abuse, emotional neglect, grief, rejection, chronic pain and illness, to name a few. You may become stressed, anxious, experience intrusive thoughts, fear, and rage. You may feel alone, easily triggered, trapped, and like there’s a void within—like you just can’t be yourself again. Yet, you have no clue that it all stems from unprocessed trauma.

Biofeedback Counsellors
Can biofeedback help with anxiety?
Biofeedback is often used to treat anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anecdotal evidence and some research studies have found that it can improve symptoms of these disorders, sometimes significantly; however, studies on biofeedback have typically been small and researchers have cautioned that many have significant limitations, such as limited follow-up or a lack of a control group.

Is biofeedback evidence-based?
There is some evidence that biofeedback can effectively treat certain conditions; for example, its efficacy in treating headaches and urinary incontinence is generally thought to be well-established. There is also promising, but less conclusive, evidence that it can aid in stroke recovery or help someone manage a mental health disorder such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD.

What is the difference between biofeedback and neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that measures brain activity specifically; it is typically used to treat psychological or neurodevelopmental concerns such as ADHD, depression, insomnia, or autism spectrum disorder. Biofeedback is a broader category that, in addition to neurofeedback, also includes electromyogram, heart rate variability, and thermal biofeedback, each of which measures a particular physiological function (muscle activity, heart rate, and skin temperature, respectively)

What are the limitations of biofeedback?
While biofeedback may be helpful for certain conditions, its efficacy is less assured for others, such as high blood pressure. People with certain health conditions such as heart arrhythmia may not be able to benefit from biofeedback because their condition may interfere with the machines’ readings. Biofeedback can also be time-consuming and costly, and may not be covered by health insurance.
