Taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage and self-care. Many individuals and couples come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain of what the next step is. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, or disordered eating. Partners may experience communication difficulties or relational strain. I'm here to support clients in finding clarity, relief, and creating practical strategies to respond differently, feel understood, strengthen their sense of self, and cultivate healthier relationships. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard and empowered.

My treatment approach focuses on two areas to help you with your current difficulties. The first is a focus on identifying what I call your "backstory"- meaning the experiences you have had with people throughout your life. We all learn certain patterns of how to be with other people, and how to regard ourselves, from our "backstory." Sometimes these patterns interfere with our ability to lead mentally healthy and fulfilling lives.

What would it be like to feel more at ease in your body and more trusting of yourself?
Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, burnout, or perfectionism begin to take over. Especially during periods of transition, self-discovery, or constant pressure to “keep it together.” You may feel stuck in your head, disconnected from your body, or unsure how to build confidence and self-trust. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of these experiences, and reconnect with yourself in a more grounded way.

As a lover of film and stories, I believe our lives unfold like narratives. Sometimes we get stuck in a chapter shaped by trauma, self-doubt, or expectations that were never truly ours. Together, we gently explore the story you’ve been carrying and begin rewriting it in a way that feels more honest and empowered. Our work may include connecting with your inner child and tending to the parts of you that feel unseen, unheard, or difficult to sit with on your own. With curiosity and compassion, we create room for those parts to be understood. Through this process, you can begin to move from surviving your story to actively shaping it.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck is something many of us face. Life can be so hard, and seeking support is an incredible act of self care. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many clients as they grow and make strides in their healing. As a therapist, I encourage authenticity and leaning into the messy and at times uncomfortable feelings that come up day to day. Growth often happens when we can sit with those feelings in a safe space while practicing curiosity, kindness, and self-compassion. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationships (couples), career stress, and parenting.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when things feel overwhelming or hard to make sense of. In therapy, we will focus on what is concerning you right now, while also exploring how past experiences may be influencing present challenges, often through patterns we may not have previously noticed. With over six years of experience working with adults, young people, and families, I support clients with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.

I support career-focused adults who are navigating the complex demands of work, parenting, and everything in between. Many of the clients I work with are high-achieving professionals who feel overwhelmed, stuck in self-doubt, or on the edge of burnout while trying to juggle multiple roles. As a working parent myself, I understand how heavy this balancing act can feel, and how easy it is to put your own needs last.

It is a privilege for me to provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults during times of great distress, change, and loss.
Therapy requires both physical and emotional safety, which I help develop and maintain as a foundation for the challenging emotions, thoughts, and multicultural experiences introduced. I draw from a contextual behavioural background, helping individuals pursue value-based action. I have specialized training with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR.

I work with individuals and couples who feel caught in repeating patterns or places of stuckness, and want to work with the embodied threads beneath them. These threads may include body sensation, emotion, narrative, relationship, and sense of self. Many clients come in around trauma, relational stress, family patterns, life transitions, or dynamics that insight alone has not shifted. My approach is steady, collaborative, and somatic, informed by my previous 20 years in osteopathic practice and my study of neurobiology, which shape how I attend to the body, regulation, perception, and the organization of experience.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
