I understand the courage it takes to begin and commit to therapy, and that is why my first goal is to provide you with a safe and validating environment to share your experiences. Often we reach out for help with the goal of eliminating discomfort, however, I have found that the most significant gains in therapy come from facilitating a more compassionate relationship with ourselves. Being curious about our thoughts and emotions, and how they influence us, can be the first step in feeling empowered and meeting needs which may have been neglected for some time.

I have over 9 years of global experience in providing counselling and psychotherapy to children, adults, couples and families across different socio-cultural backgrounds and diverse ranges of challenges.
You are here now, today, because a part of you longs for something to change. Life can be challenging sometimes and you don’t have to go through this journey alone. Maybe you're trying to navigate a romantic relationship , a major life transition like moving to a new city, or a death in the family. Perhaps you're tired of trying to manage it on your own and have been turning to unhelpful coping strategies to ease your painful feelings. During therapy, I can help you build self-awareness to improve your resiliency and ability to thrive, sort through your feelings during the sessions and help you learn healthy coping skills.

My general therapeutic approach is integrative, and I have a particular interest in using cognitive-behavioural, attachment-based, and relational therapies to treat anxiety, depression, various phobias, chronic pain, stage-of-life issues (particularly mid-life issues), and couple relationship challenges.
Greetings! I consider it both an honour and a privilege to be held in a position of trust and to listen and respond to my clients’ unique, rich life stories. Since 2014, I have accumulated extensive clinical experience using cognitive-behavioural therapy and relational, person-centred interventions to treat adults with various psychological, emotional, and spiritual challenges. Irrespective of my therapeutic approach and the presenting issue, I place the highest priority on creating a warm and empathic, safe, non-judgemental space where my clients and I can collaborate to come up with workable short- and long-term solutions.

My practice focuses on building a collaborative, empathetic and authentic therapeutic relationship with you, my clients, to promote your personal growth as we co-create a path to your more empowered life.
It's Winter 2023! Do you feel overwhelmed by the uncertainties of navigating your life this year? Do you struggle with being imperfectly human in societal structures calling for your perfection to belong? Is guilt/shame messaging from cultural norms about your gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. holding you back from achieving your full potential? Are you burdened by losses? Are you trying to embrace who you truly are as you graduate into adulthood, steer through relationship breakups, or transition into a new stage in life? If YES to any of these, I'd like to support you to grow into your wholehearted authentic life.

When faced with a challenge or uncertainty, it can take a toll on your well-being, productivity, and self-worth. It can be difficult to talk to your friends, family, or romantic partner about how you are feeling, and finding a safe space can be the first step to feeling like yourself again. I am a registered social worker with over 9 years of experience working in mental health. I am a non-judgmental empath who strives to support and always meet my clients where they are at. I take a client-centered, trauma-focused, anti-oppressive approach, and work to collaboratively create a plan with my clients to help them achieve their goals.

My approach to the therapeutic relationship is rooted in ethnocultural understanding and empathy.
Feeling a little isolated, misunderstood or simply disconnected from yourself or those around you? Perhaps you’re seeking counselling to better understand how lived experiences might be impacting your wellness in the present. Or maybe you do not identify with any of these specific issues but want to explore some other issue through therapy anyway and aren’t entirely sure of the process….

I also work with couples as an Emotionally Focussed Therapist (EFT) Together, we uncover what causes your particular marital distress and discover the negative cycles within your pattern of interaction.
Everything changes when you fall in love with truth. Inner alignment, no matter where it takes you, is both the means and the end. If you're struggling with depression, anxiety, boundaries, isolation, narcissistic abuse, and/or low self esteem then it might be your intention to develop a keener sense of what your place in life is meant to be, create healthier boundaries and relationships. Together we can explore your inner world, understand who you are at your core, and what you need to develop into the vibrant human being you were always meant to be. Remember, to begin that our most important relationship is with ourselves.

At our core we all know who we are, what we believe, the kind of relationships we want to have and the kind of life we want to build. Trauma, anxiety, grief, loss and relationship problems can take up so much mental space that it can feel impossible to envision that life. These experiences can be isolating and it may be hard to reach out for help at the times you need it the most. Everyone deserves time and space to be listened to and supported

I believe in building a trusting, open, and caring relationship with you in order for you to feel confident, supported, and empowered to face your difficulties and fulfill your needs.
Life is full of unexpected highs and lows and we all need to feel supported, encouraged, and cared for, whether it be during times of hardships or on a regular basis. My intention is to create a safe and non-judgemental space to help you share your story, understand your needs, grieve your losses, and celebrate your accomplishments. Life can feel complicated and busy, so we don’t always make time to acknowledge and care for our mental health. Together we can work to explore situations and find patterns in your life that may be standing in your way of moving towards your goals and figure out new ways to approach old challenges.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
