I can help you reclaim parts of your self that you avoid or may fear through art and embodied dialogue.
Life can often feel chaotic. The reality is that changes are presented to us outside of our control and we find ourselves faced with the task of making decisions and choices that will decide the course of our future. These untimely decisions and choices can leave us feeling bewildered and disoriented. To complicate things further, we can find ourselves stuck in emotional and behavioural patterns that inhibit and hold us back from making the decisions we would like to or that would be best for us. Sometimes it’s difficult to even know what we would like to do or what is best for us. What should you aim towards?

I often draw on numerous therapeutic modalities such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy and Mindfulness.
Sometimes life gets difficult. You don’t have to weather the storm alone! I support individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, mood disorders, relationship and family issues and grief and loss. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. I work relationally and strive to create a compassionate therapeutic environment that is always judgement free. Starting therapy can often feel daunting, overwhelming and uncomfortable. I am here to support you as you lean into those places of discomfort in order to better understand your emotions, experiences and coping mechanisms.

I specialize in "talk therapy," but am able to increase the efficacy of our sessions by using specific methods using images, art or photographs, or your own imagination, to access feelings that your rational mind may reject or discount.
We enter psychotherapy for a wide variety of reasons: The death or loss of a loved one, illness, job loss, divorce, addiction, etc., but all of us seek help because we are trying to find a better way to deal with the reality we are facing. My job as a psychotherapist is to help you talk about your emotions and reactions in a safe environment, figure out where these emotions and reactions are coming from, observe whether your reactions produce the desired outcomes and, discover new ways to react, if that would produce more desirable outcomes

I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and a certified art therapist.
My passion is to engage with clients who are struggling with mental health issues and for which traditional talk therapy may not be the most helpful modality. As a certified professional art therapist, I seek to help my client find meaning, purpose, and ultimately their inner voice through the creative process. A client may come into art therapy seeking relief from a variety of issues but later find that they can oftentimes find wisdom from within. Art therapy can jog such a process where words sometimes fail. The goal of my practice is to cultivate and nurture this inner voice, and so help my client to develop greater confidence.

In my private practice as an expressive arts therapist I use the arts along with conversation and reflection, to help clients get ‘unstuck,’ uncover resources for change and growth, live with suffering when necessary and celebrate the joy of life as we humans always have -- by making meaning through making art . Increasingly, I also draw on Internal Family Systems (working with our "parts") to support and inform a safe and effective healing environment. I work with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, creative blocks, eating disorders, physical illness, grief, trauma and sexual abuse.

At Life in Harmony Counselling Services private practice, we help our clients discover their voice, wisdom, and strength by utilizing a range of advanced techniques such as Mindfulness, CBT, Guided Imagery, Play Therapy, Art Therapy , Narrative Therapy, DBT, and Trauma Techniques.
Our therapists often hear from clients who say, "I'm aware of what I need to do, but I struggle to take action." This sentiment may resonate with you. It's normal to feel unsure and anxious during times of crisis, family conflict, relationship issues, or any significant life changes. However, if these emotions hinder your progress, ignoring them won't make them go away. It's crucial to acknowledge your fears, pinpoint their origins, and take proactive steps to overcome them for your well-being.

I was originally trained as an art therapist and have worked with children and adolescents and adults.
Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Can't stop thinking about the past or catastrophizing the future? I can help you overcome your anxiety or depression. I also work with clients who are experiencing relationship difficulties, trauma, insomnia or specific phobias. My goal is never to change who YOU are but help YOU change how you respond to your environment and to practice self-compassion/acceptance. I won't ask you to do anything that I haven't tried myself or isn't backed by scientific research. Finding the right therapist is the first step, book a free meet and greet to see if we're the right fit for one another!

I’m a Certified Canadian Counsellor, Art Therapist, and fellow Self-Healer.
If you struggle with never feeling good enough, perfectionism, or frequent burnout from people pleasing, you’re not alone. Maybe you grew up playing the role of a scapegoat or golden child, or often felt invisible. If you find yourself repeating these patterns as an adult, I’m here to help. Some things we may explore include: identifying bottled up feelings or unmet needs, understanding what motivates you to behave or think in certain ways, and letting go of what no longer serves you. This work makes it possible for you to heal old wounds, end painful cycles, enjoy more satisfying relationships, and make way for your authentic self.

Art Therapy can support clients with emotional regulation, insight, shifting behaviour, strengthening identity, self-perception, skill acquisition, confidence, and creative expression.
Hi, I'm OIga. I am so glad that you are here! I know that parenting can be really tough, and sometimes our little ones have some big experiences that lead them (and you!) to worry and feel overwhelmed. I can walk alongside you, and make the road ahead feel a little bit lighter. Using art therapy and play, I support children, youth (ages 5-17) and their caregivers from a person-centred, attachment-based, and trauma-sensitive lens. I also provide Clinical Supervision to Art Therapists, Psychotherapists and Counselling Therapists across Canada (CRPO, CCC, CATA, ACTA).

I draw on positive psychology, mindfulness, and art therapy techniques to help clients explore their inner depths and find ways to live fuller lives.
I specialize in working with clients who feel stuck, depressed, or anxious. Perhaps you sense there is more to life, but are not sure how to access your potential. It may be that you are struggling with meeting your own needs due to focusing on others. You are ready to focus on your healing. I also work with couples, drawing on the Gottman method, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy and mindfulness strategies. I see each person individually before we set out on our couples therapy journey together. I believe in the power of therapy to return couples to a place of love, support, and joy.

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
