I’ve worked with women facing perinatal and post-partum mental health challenges, and with hospital patients experiencing symptoms of psychosis, schizophrenia, and other related disorders.
I'm a Toronto-based psychotherapist who provides support to those struggling with workplace stress and mental health, moral injury, burnout, work-life balance, career transitions, and professional self-esteem and confidence. I provide specialized support to the legal profession in particular, both through the Member Assistance Program (MAP) funded by the Law Society of Ontario, and through private bookings. I’m a member of the Ontario Bar with 10 years of prior legal experience before I became a counsellor and therapist, and if you happen to be a “recovering lawyer” or seeking to become one, I can help!

In our work together, my role is to support you in creating the life you envision. While there’s no quick fix, we’ll work together to uncover the resilience and strength you already possess, helping you navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

My practice is significantly informed by my personal experiences as a South Asian and queer woman.
We all have our own beautiful, messy but ultimately unique stories. Who we are, and how we present ourselves to the world and the people around us, are defined by our narratives. Sometimes the challenge is that we may not recognize the power in other narratives. Together, we can create space to address, racial and/or gender identity, relationship patterns, transition periods, sexuality and any issues impacting you and your journey. I am passionate about hearing your story and providing a safe, brave and judgement-free space, to build on your core values and strengths to discover opportunities for growth and healing.

As a biracial, multiethnic woman, I celebrate how our cultural experiences shape and nuance how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.
Are you anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted? Are you struggling to build/repair trust, communication, intimacy, and connection in your relationships? Maybe you feel stuck, unsure where to start or how to navigate a difficult situation, and afraid to make the 'wrong' choice. Whatever storms you are braving, know you do not have to do so alone. You deserve to feel seen, heard, validated, and supported. Together we will explore your circumstances more deeply, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, identify strengths, areas with room for growth, and what you hope to achieve.

My intersections as a bi-cultural, Taiwanese, first-generation immigrant woman give me insight into how cultural factors influence personal, relational, intergenerational, and systemic aspects of the human experience.
I specialize in art therapy, and am fluent in both Mandarin(提供中文服務)and English–sessions can be provided in both languages. Through an anti-oppressive, intersectional, client-centered approach, I support individuals navigating relationships, trauma, marginalization, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-discovery, and other therapeutic goals. I believe the therapeutic process is non-linear and there is no one approach or modality for all since we all have unique stories. I walk alongside clients to help find what best suits them while considering their strengths, needs, and goals.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
