I specialize in mental health, trauma, addiction, ABI, ADHD , depression, anxiety, stress, attachment issues, other emotion regulation difficulties, and mindfulness-based practice.
I'm passionate about helping and connecting with others. My wealth of clinical and front line experience provides me with expertise and practical skills not possessed by most therapists. I view each client as an expert in their own lives, largely integrating their goals in counselling. My work is inspired by the science of neuroplasticity, thus I provide education about human behaviour and brain functioning to help clients make sense of their difficulties and see their challenges from a normalizing view. Many clients find this information to be helpful, hopeful, and empowering, as it gives us a roadmap for resolving their issues.

More important- weight involves many psychological issues such as emotions, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD , bipolar, addictions & disordered eating.
I lost 100lbs and currently kept it off for eight years (I started August 15, 2012). I remember at my heaviest weight, I wanted to talk to someone who had been there, done that & understood I so badly wanted to change and my frustration at not changing. I wanted someone who could quiet my mind when it worried about my weight and help me gain control of my body and life. I know what it's like to start losing weight, only to abandon the effort shortly thereafter. If you repeat that pattern and put your health and quality of life at risk, then you likely feel that there are issues that need to be addressed psychologically - I can help!

You are trying to come to terms with being neurodivergent. Received a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD , Dyscalculia, Dyslexia or identify as a HSP. Sometimes you suffer in relationships and jobs due to difficulties in expressing your exact needs, asking for accommodations, or adjusting to a culture that was created for the Allistic/Neurotypical. Perhaps Behavioural therapy hasn't worked for you, or you do not feel supported in your Gender journey or sexuality. You may be a racialized individual who prefers working with "A Therapist Like You" and you are aware of carrying lots of trauma in your body.

I use a collaborative, compassionate, and directive approach (sometimes I'll add a little humour in there).
If you are a family or a couple who are moving into a long term partnership, hoping to start a family, or have lost your way over the years then I would love to come aboard on your journey. Perhaps you have some unresolved wounds from the past that you can no longer afford to carry the weight of. Perhaps you want to unlearn some of those unhelpful patterns you learned growing up so that you can do things differently for yourself and/or your family. We are not always taught healthy communication, self-love, how to recognize different love languages, or feel comfortable discussing intimacy.

My clients span a wide cross section of people from different groups and all walks of life who are dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD , relational difficulties, life transitions and other challenges.
Are you finding it hard to connect with yourself and others? Have you been feeling down, disinterested, withdrawn or anxious? Perhaps recent experiences have left you feeling crippled with self-doubt. Or maybe the best way to describe it is simply that you’re feeling stuck? I would like to help. Together we will identify persisting patterns of relating to the self and your environment that leave you feeling this way. We will chart a course to self-awareness and acceptance through alternative paths and choices. Using a psychodynamic approach, I create a safe space for us to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

ADHD Counsellors
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Downtown, Toronto ADHD counsellor, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counselling in Downtown, Toronto.
