Drawing from a diverse pool of therapeutic techniques, and favouring such modalities as Internal Family Systems , Psychodynamic, and Relational Psychotherapies, my clinical orientation adheres to a collaborative, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based framework toward intrapsychic healing.
The mind has a funny way of working against us sometimes. After all, we are just organisms doing our best with what we have been given. Now more than ever do we need to ensure that our psychology is operating in our best interest, and at its fullest potential. My mandate is to accompany you on your idiosyncratic voyage toward self-discovery, cognitive clarity, and psychological sovereignty. You have had the answers all along, but now you have a fellow traveler to help you find what you may have overlooked.

I use an integrative approach with clients, with a basis in Internal Family Systems ( IFS ) therapy or 'parts work', a trauma-informed, mindfulness based modality, and I draw from somatic and behavioural interventions to invite change and acceptance in your life.
There are times in our lives that we cannot get a handle on the challenges in our life. Sometimes our genetics play a role, i.e. intergenerational traumas, and other times, life, and all its stressors gets overwhelming. For some, systemic barriers exist that impede a capacity for wellness. During these times, it is helpful to work with a trained therapist to support you as you find your way back to your healing, happiness and inner peace. Therapy is a process of growth, unlearning, and self-discovery. In my therapy sessions, I promote behavioral transformation and inner peace by encouraging curiosity, compassion and acceptance.

I'm informed by Internal Family Systems Therapy.
Much of my work is in supporting people who want to improve and strengthen their relationships with others, and who are willing and interested to begin with learning more about themselves. Exploring and addressing life's challenges with an approach that is strengths-based, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, collaborative, and often emotionally-focussed - I understand the importance of trust in the therapeutic work. I'm also currently highly interested in working with people who are exploring their sense of belonging and well-being in the context of their relationship to colonization. As a settler, I recognize this work is ongoing.

My approach is integrative, but pulls largely from somatic therapy, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems , Gestalt, and relational therapy.
I work with clients who are undergoing any experience that might be called 'transformation.' Sometimes transformation is forced upon us by external events, and sometimes we are called to it from within. Either way, it can be a difficult process to navigate alone. My aim is to provide clients with a compassionate, empowering, and insight-evoking space in which they can process pain and grow into their truest self. I welcome clients from all walks of life who feel that they would benefit from a more embodied and imaginative approach to therapy.

As a therapist, I invite curiosity, some humour, mindful awareness and compassion to compliment my training in Internal Family Systems , Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Creative Arts Therapy.
Hi there. I'm so happy you are reaching out for support. As humans, we are all shaped and transformed by the relationships and experiences we've had. When we feel overwhelmed, numb, off balance or tangled up, a kind and patient relationship in therapy can help us find steady footing and clarity again, giving us the resilience to feel trust within, adapt and thrive. Whether you are a youth or adult looking to strengthen relationships, build confidence, explore ways to communicate or unravel anxiety, grief, depression, or trauma, I am here as your guide.

IFS is an exploratory, unburdening modality, naturally cultivating self-understanding, enhancing your ability to care for your parts of your personality.
I provide a compassionate, safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I work from a client-centred perspective, where we collaboratively work towards understanding your relational dynamics, processing your ingrained patterns and triggers, and ultimately expanding your level of awareness and consciousness by exploring meaning, purpose and joy in life. Modalities that I have found particularly effective are IFS (Internal Family Systems ) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), which go beyond traditional notions of talk therapy, to access and promote your inherent capacity for self-compassion and healing.

My counselling approach is informed by Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems ( IFS ), and may also draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindful-based practices.
People of all ages have expertise on their own lives. When problems linger and impact mental health and well-being, collaborating with a therapist who is a good fit for you can provide a safe space to establish perspective and highlight the unique values, skills and knowledge you bring to your lived experience. I strive to create warm, respectful and strength-based working relationships that allow us to identify problem solving skills and abilities to reduce the influence of the problem or dissolve it altogether. Sometimes a single consultation is useful while other problems might have us consulting for a period of time.

All of us can be presented with hardship, pain and overwhelm - sometimes without warning. It is in these stressful moments that we may struggle to find the tools to cope. Confronted by life’s challenges, it can become difficult to see the path forward.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a relationship with each client that gives space to explore the impact of external stories and your internal worlds. I work mostly with neurodivergent individuals – people who self-identify as Autistic, ADHD, gifted, highly sensitive etc. – with interest in navigating the harmful impact of dominant social norms. My approaches are borrowed from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems , Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness and Religion, with some influence from CBT and Art Therapy.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counsellors

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
