My name is Elsa Trovarello, I am from Nipissing First Nation, and identify as queer and 2 spirit. I am therapist that believes that therapy should be tailored to fit the person. I work to guide you and offer insight and coping skills that can alleviate life transitions and challenges that are unique to you. I come from a place of non-judgement and understanding to help you connect with your true values and the life you want to live. Whether that includes processing trauma, or working to overcome depression and anxiety, I am ready to help using evidence-based research and expertise in psychology.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) as well as Trauma-Informed Therapy among others. I also offer LGBTQ+2 Affirmative therapy and Existential-based therapy. I utilize a strengths-based style of therapy that is structured and yet curated to you.
Therapy can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. It's my job to make you feel comfortable; so my agenda is your agenda, we focus on what you want to work on. I have experience working with First Nations, LGBTQ+2, and am part of the FN and LGBTQ+2 community. I work hard to make every space one of inclusion and support necessary for growth and change.
