I have received 100's training hours-including Somatic Attachment, Trauma, Internal Family Systems, CBT, etc.
What kind of person do you want to be? What do you hope to build towards or overcome? What gets in the way, causing you to feel stuck? Whether you or someone you care about is on a grief journey, sorting through past or present challenges (including trauma), dealing with a tough inner critic or facing relational conflict... hope remains! Whether young, old, or somewhere in between, I believe that with meaningful support everyone has the potential to move towards greater joy, hope, purpose, and connection.

Using a mind-body approach - primarily through EMDR, but also including IFS, mindfulness, attachment-focused therapy, somatic & breathwork - we address how stress and emotional dysregulation can show up as anxiety, fatigue, relationship struggles, low self-esteem, digestive issues, muscle tension, headaches, and more.
My practice is trauma-informed, accessible, socially just, culturally responsive, and allied with diverse racial, sexual, and disability identities. I am committed to collaborative, anti-oppressive, and pro-liberation principles.

Hi! I am so glad that you are here. The decision to begin therapy is often the first step towards positive change, improved relationships and feeling better. Are you moving into new roles and responsibilities and finding it difficult to cope? Have you been impacted by something painful and feel you need a place to process this? Do you have a child or teen with anxiety, ADHD, anger, or OCD and want to arm them with skills to crush these issues? Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through, or a non-judgemental ear just to listen? If you answered yes to any of the above, therapy together may be a wonderful fit for you!

Client's tell me they are surprised at how relaxed they feel once they begin the treatment and how soothing the somatic work is on their nervous system with this trauma-informed tool.
You don't have to keep living in survival mode. Does this sound familiar? From the outside, you may look like you are holding it all together: you go to work, care for your family, how up for others, and push through. But inside, you are utterly exhausted. Your mind races. You are always on high alert, easily overwhelmed, reacting in ways that don't feel like you. Maybe it is trauma, surviving your childhood, a heartbreaking loss, or years of chronic stress. No matter how hard you try, it feels impossible to "move on". But the good news is, your nervous system can heal. It is possible to feel calmer and more, like yourself.

As a psychotherapist, I believe that each individual's journey is unique, and so should be the approach to healing and growth. I focus on fostering deep, authentic connections in therapy and creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. In addition to providing traditional talk therapy, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my work, a highly researched, evidence-based approach that the World Health Organization has deemed the top treatment for trauma.

Have you ever wondered why life seems harder for you than it does for everyone else? You may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns that don't make sense. Perhaps you've spent years masking, people-pleasing, pushing through burnout, or wondering why things that seem easy for others take so much effort for you. For many women, these struggles can be connected to past experiences or trauma, the pressures of parenting, unrecognized neurodivergence, and the weight of societal, familial, and personal expectations.

Have you experienced trauma? Do you oscillate between feeling overwhelmed and anxious, to numb and detached? Do you think that you will never measure up or be "good enough"? We adapt to our environment as a means of ensuring our survival. Perhaps you've learned to adapt by withdrawing from others, or neglecting your own needs. It may have helped to stay endlessly busy, never allowing yourself a break, or using aggression to protect yourself. Regardless of how you have adapted or coped with what happened to you, I firmly believe we can heal from trauma and find inner peace.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
