Welcome to your journey of growth and self-discovery. Let’s create a space where you can feel supported, safe, and free to explore the challenges that may be holding you back; our sessions will be a space where all emotions—whether it’s laughing, crying, or even swearing—are welcome. I want you to be as unedited as you can be. I know it can be intimidating to share your personal story with someone new.

If you’ve found yourself here, something inside you is ready for change. Maybe you’ve been keeping it all together on the outside, while quietly struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation. You might feel disconnected from yourself, exhausted by just “coping,” and unsure what healing really means. I work with individuals living with complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and Borderline Personality Disorder; people who are ready to move beyond survival into deeper self-understanding. My approach is steady, relational, and deeply attuned to your nervous system and lived experience.

I work with women and young adults navigating self-image and body concerns, eating challenges, and their relationship with food, as well as life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety, and depression. Much of my work focuses on supporting a more compassionate and sustainable relationship with yourself; whether that’s in how you relate to your body, food, or the expectations you place on yourself. The focus isn’t on fixing you, but on helping you better understand yourself, your patterns, emotions, and ways of coping. From there, we can begin to create change that feels supportive, and aligned with who you are.

What makes therapy daunting for some is worry about opening up to someone they don’t know. Yes, I’m a therapist, but I am a human being who appreciates the beauty of deep social connections, and my true self is who you’ll meet sitting across from me. I know how it feels to be the client in the room - My hope is to encourage our relationship and work towards your desired goals on a foundation of trust, respect, and comfort. The human experience sure is a complex and vulnerable one, and I don’t take this for granted. I hope for our journey to be encouraging and healing, while helping you build trust and confidence within yourself.

It can be hard to talk openly about sex, substance use, or intense emotions, especially when these parts of your life feel tangled with shame, secrecy, or relationship stress. I work with people who are navigating sexual behaviour concerns, substance use, anxiety, and personality related difficulties that are starting to impact their work, relationships, or sense of self. Together, we look at what is not working right now and what you would like life and relationships to feel like instead.

Starting therapy can feel daunting - I agree. That’s why my approach is warm, welcoming, and flexible. I don’t expect you to show up in any particular way; I will meet you exactly where you are. Together, we will create space for healing that’s both compassionate and practical. Wellness starts within. Sometimes it begins with one conversation, one new perspective, or even one lighthearted laugh in the middle of a heavy moment. Clients tell me they appreciate that balance - the ability to hold deep pain with care while also reminding them that joy and healing are possible.

What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
