If your child or adolescent is struggling with issues around peer relationships, anxiety, depression, school, parental separation, ADHD, and other types of neurodiversity, I can help.
I work with children, tweens, and adolescents to help provide tools and strategies to problem solve and to manage the issues they face that have caused distress. For children experiencing neurodiversity, such as ADHD, I can help them and their parents create the structure they need, and help them advocate for their own unique way of being in the world.

I work specifically with men to help them deal with things like anger, infidelity, depression, anxiety, substance misuse, relationship issues, and self-esteem and self-worth. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what's going on or even what you're feeling. Maybe anger or numb is the only thing you feel. It doesn't have to be this way. I've spent the last 40 years helping men get unstuck and live better lives.

Most men have been taught that we have to manage things by ourselves. To hide our feelings. Or men don't have feelings. Guess what that leads to? Anger, irritability, relationship issues, work problems, and trouble connecting with our kids, friends, and partners. Maybe drinking too much and checking out, too. Or cheating on our partner, because it's easier than trying to figure out what's going on at home. Maybe you don't even realize how bad things have gotten until your partner tells you that you "can't communicate", you're messing up, and now you have no idea what to do and you're defensive and confused.

Do you often feel “not good enough,” weighed down by self-doubt, or trapped in endless self-criticism? It can be exhausting and isolating when you replay every moment, second-guess yourself, and feel stuck inside your own mind. You might be longing to feel more confident, grounded, and connected — to quiet your inner critic, understand your emotions, and find your way back to self-acceptance and ease.

Hi, I’m Devon. I help people talk about the things that can feel awkward, overwhelming, or hard to say out loud. Whether it’s intimacy, identity, trauma, or tough emotions — my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and never judged. As a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, I bring both medical knowledge and therapeutic experience into our sessions. My style is sex-positive, trauma-informed, and fully affirming of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship styles. I vibe with humour and kindness. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or clinical, this isn’t a trip to the dentist.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
