Feeling respected, understood and supported is essential to effective therapy. This is the environment I create with people in spite of the intensity of their issues. I walk alongside adults, older adults and teens, who want to overcome challenges. There are times when circumstances push us to our limits and it is difficult to see positive outcomes. I will help bring clearer perspective and work with people to find beneficial paths forward.

Now welcoming clients for therapy and child sleep support- in person or online.
Parenthood is hard, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Whether you’re struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety, feeling burned out from the mental load, or finding it difficult to set boundaries and stay regulated, it can feel like you’re running on empty. You want to show up for your kids with patience, but exhaustion, guilt, and overwhelm keep pulling you off course. Maybe you’re reacting in ways that don’t feel like you, missing who you used to be, or just trying to make it through the day. You deserve parenting support that helps you feel grounded, confident, and more in control—as a parent and as a person.

I offer therapy sessions both in person and virtually with weeknight and weekend availability.
Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, substance use, ADHD, grief, PTSD or trauma that affects your daily life, your relationships, and work? Do you feel overwhelmed just getting through the day? Do you wonder if you could be happier? More than ever, people are feeling uncertain about how to do it all- to cope with challenging emotions and fears, to manage anxiety about the future and to find meaning in their daily lives. Putting your own needs on pause or numbing emotions just to make it through the day has long term impacts on our minds, bodies and relationships. I believe it shouldn’t be that hard to live a better life.

I offer virtual sessions, and in-person sessions in Kitchener.
Personally and professionally, I have experienced the power of finding language that describes who we are and of being seen and supported in telling and retelling the stories that shape us. One of the ways we make sense of our experiences is through stories, both that we hold internally and that we share with others. It has been my honour and joy to join people in finding new and old meaning in their stories.

I am currently offering Face to Face sessions making use of a large office.
I utilize two main treatment modalities. EMDR helps you to process disturbing events and clear the trauma you have experienced in your life. TFCBT helps to challenge negative thoughts and create a trauma narrative. I also use EMDR Flash Technique developed by Pillip Manfried. It helps to painlessly reduce the trauma disturbance without focusing on the trauma

Are you or someone you are caring for facing a situation that is causing you stress, worry or sadness? Facing a health challenge or making a significant life transition can feel overwhelming leading you to worry how you are going to face the future. If you are a caregiver/partner, you may lack energy or time for yourself making you feel irritable, frustrated, angry or guilty. You may think, "I can't do this, I'm not handling this well" causing you to overthink and ruminate which might affect your sleep at night. You may struggle finding meaning and purpose and don't know who to talk to.

You’ve been holding it all together on the outside, but inside, it’s a different story. The anxiety never really quiets - it just shifts shape. Some days it’s racing thoughts and a tight chest; other days it’s feeling numb and disconnected. You keep wondering, “Why can’t I just feel okay?” You try to show up for everyone else, but end up feeling like you’re falling short. Underneath it all, there’s an ache - grief you haven’t had space to process, self-doubt that whispers you’re not enough, and the weight of coping in ways that no longer serve you. I specialize in helping people work through anxiety, grief, and low self-worth.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
