As a former first responder, I understand how cumulative stress and trauma can shape how we think, feel, and function. My career in policing taught me the value of support and resilience, which now guide my work as a counsellor. I offer specialized support for first responders while welcoming clients from all backgrounds. My focus is on providing practical tools, psychoeducation, and a holistic approach to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Eric brings over 14 years of experience as a firefighter in Ottawa to his work as a therapist. As a dad to two girls & a community volunteer coach, he understands what it means to show up in crisis, hold space for hard conversations, and keep things real. Eric's approach is curious, skilled, & direct. He trusts in people's ability to change while acknowledging that life can be chaotic and unpredictable. He knows we all have vulnerabilities that can overwhelm us, and that we all have resources and resilience, too. For Eric, the power of talk therapy happens when we summon the courage to be open and honest with ourselves.

With 17 years of experience in mental health and addiction support, I’ve worked with people in survival mode, trying to break cycles they’ve been stuck in for years, or with navigating big life changes. What I’ve learned is this: people are incredibly resilient. With the right support, it’s possible to reconnect with what matters most, find your footing, and move toward meaningful change one step at a time. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, shame, low self-worth, relationship struggles, or stuck patterns, I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space to explore your challenges and help you to create lasting growth.

Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected—from themselves or from the world around them. Some are navigating social or general anxieties, depression, trauma, or feelings like they just aren't doing enough, while others are learning how to better understand and support their neurodivergent minds. My therapy style is grounded in curiosity, respect, and meeting you where you are. At a pace that makes sense for you, our work together will blend reflection and insight with learning practical skills to better work with the stuff that's been getting in the way.

I help adults and couples untangle the deep roots of developmental trauma, complex PTSD, addictions, mood instability, and personality challenges. Many grew up in environments where they had to survive, not thrive—leaving them stuck, dysregulated, or disconnected. I also work with first responders carrying the weight of high-stress roles. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, offering a grounded space to heal emotional patterns, relationship ruptures, and identity struggles from the inside out.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it is, but it is one you do not have to take alone. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you work through life's challenges. I work with pre-teens, teens, adults, and older adults, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns or feeling disconnected from yourself, whatever you are carrying, I want you to know that it's valid. In our work together, I bring empathy, curiosity, and respect to every session.

The analytical journey often begins when a person experiences an extremely challenging time in his/her/their life, does not know what to do, and feels stuck. Jungian analysis is an opportunity for him/her/them to work on his/her/their problems and emotions by talking with a trusted and qualified professional who listens attentively and assists him/her/them in exploring a personal inner path for healing. It is deep soul and spiritual work. The weekly analytic hour is an opportunity to address that by exploring a person's inner and outer life, while focusing on unconscious personal and collective material, especially symbolically.

If you’re tired of holding everything in and pretending you’re fine, you’re not alone. Many men feel anxious, disconnected, or stuck—caught between wanting to do better and not knowing how. You might want to be calmer under stress, more open with your partner, or simply feel like yourself again without the constant tension. My work is about helping men stop running from their emotions and start living with clarity and strength.

My work serves adults seeking therapy for anxiety, trauma, self-worth, self-esteem, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and career issues. Many of my clients are men, high-achieving professionals, and queer and BIPOC folks who show up in the world as capable and composed, but underneath, carry the weight of early shame and trauma, relational wounds, questions of identity and purpose, or a quiet sense that something essential is missing.

Sometimes people get stuck. Individuals and couples come to me for counselling to talk about a variety of problems - things like conflict in relationships, anxiety, depression, overwhelming stress, abuse, grief, vocational crisis, or anger. A counselling relationship helps people to move from understanding issues to co-creating solutions - solutions that shrink and manage problems. I use an integrative approach, drawing on different counselling methods depending on what works best for the client, including practices from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and solution-based therapy. I can help you to move through difficult times with courage, accountability, and positive resolve.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
