Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined. Sometimes it is the ending of a love relationship, an unexpected job loss, or navigating a new health diagnosis. These moments can have us feeling anxious, disconnected, and unsure of how to move forward. Counselling is a supportive space to clear the noise. My role as your therapist is to support you in connecting to your core values, releasing the negative self-talk or shame that is weighing you down, and providing evidence based tools to aid your healing. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life transitions and loss.

Healing happens when we support the whole person, caring for not only the symptoms but also what's further beneath the surface. Emotional pain and trauma leave lasting marks on both the mind and body. That's why my work goes beyond traditional talk therapy, weaving in holistic practices to help promote deeper healing. I support teens and adults facing anxiety, depression, C-PTSD, personality and mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, self-esteem and perfectionism struggles, life transitions, and peer relationship challenges.

You are used to being the strong one the one who keeps going no matter how exhausted you feel inside. The one others lean on at home, at work, and in your family. But quietly, you may be carrying anxiety, burnout, loneliness, or an emotional weight nobody around you fully sees. From the outside you appear to have it together. Inside, you are tired in ways that are hard to explain. As an immigrant myself, I understand living between worlds while holding everything together for everyone else. You deserve a space to finally breathe. Free 50-minute consultation, just say hello.

It is exhausting to look like you have it all together when your mind never stops racing. Most of the women I work with are the "reliable ones"; the ones carrying the mental load for everyone else while secretly feeling like they’re one more task away from a breaking point. Whether you’re navigating the heavy identity shifts of motherhood, the pressure of a high-stakes career, or the lingering echoes of past trauma, you don't have to carry the weight alone. I’m here for the woman who is tired of just "getting through" the day and is ready to feel steady, present, and actually okay again.

Many people come to therapy wondering “what is wrong with me”? It is my view that the real question is "what has happened in your life that has impacted your beliefs about yourself and your ability to cope with stressful life events"? You may notice that you seem to automatically react to situations in a way that you don't necessarily choose and question if you will ever be able to change. If you have experienced highly stressful and/or traumatic events then you will benefit from a therapeutic approach that mindfully explores your personal experiences and strengthens your resiliency to respond rather than react.

I am a Clinical Psychologist in Guelph supporting WOMEN across Ontario with ANXIETY, OCD and overwhelm. My clients are typically high achieving, perfectionistic women and mothers, or women in the 'centre generation'; juggling the demands of aging parents, parenting stress and busy careers. Using evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, ERP, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, mindfulness) we'll work to deepen your awareness of your internal patterns, while optimizing the environments shaping your wellbeing to help you live a regulated, purposeful, healthy life.

I work with women and young adults navigating self-image and body concerns, eating challenges, and their relationship with food, as well as life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety, and depression. Much of my work focuses on supporting a more compassionate and sustainable relationship with yourself; whether that’s in how you relate to your body, food, or the expectations you place on yourself. The focus isn’t on fixing you, but on helping you better understand yourself, your patterns, emotions, and ways of coping. From there, we can begin to create change that feels supportive, and aligned with who you are.

You may have learned to carry a lot on your own. Perhaps early relationships shaped how safe it feels to need others. Maybe grief, trauma, cultural expectations, or identity transitions have left you feeling disconnected from yourself. Or you find yourself repeating patterns in relationships that you don’t fully understand, even when you want something different. I work from a relational, experiential, psychodynamic, and somatic lens, which means we pay attention not only to what is happening now, but to the deeper emotional histories and protective strategies that developed for good reason.

Women's Issues Counsellors
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
