As a queer therapist, I know how important and life-changing it can be to feel wholly and unconditionally accepted for who you are. No matter your background or identities, my goal, as your therapist, is to provide safety, support, and insight to help you face the challenges in your life. Whether it's a past experience, a recurring pattern, or something you can't quite name - whatever it is, I am here to accompany you through the process of moving through obstacles and realigning with your authentic self. "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." - C. G. Jung

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with 10 years of experience. My work is grounded in understanding how our life experiences shape the nervous system and our capacity for connection. I work with adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship conflicts, and the physical toll of chronic stress. I also support couples and families using an emotionally focused approach, and work closely with neurodivergent clients navigating chronic burnout and a world not built around their needs.

Over a lifetime, we all develop defences, emotional knowings, thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, and fears that keep us from living the life we want. These may feel like limitations. At one time they had purpose, but have lost their usefulness in the present day. My job is to help you identify these limitations and guide and support you to transform them. We embrace the parts that have value and have compassion for the parts that are holding you back. Becoming aware of unwanted fears, beliefs, and thoughts that control our lives is an important step in changing the way we do things and how we see our world.

How does therapy work? To begin with, life hurts. We do our best to avoid this pain, but over time our patterns of avoidance become less effective. What we push away eventually begins to show up in our relationships, our bodies, and the choices we make. I work with my clients to meet what is happening with honesty, support, and compassion. This kind of awareness creates room for something new to emerge. From there, change begins to happen organically.

Welcome to my page! What if it was possible to heal and transform the painful feelings we carry and experience expanded states of compassion, connection, joy, and peace in our lives? This is often a gradual process but one that I experience in my own life and lives of clients regularly. Together we can explore the roots of whatever is currently calling your attention - be it safe emotional expression, self-compassion, healthy relating, embodied sexual and erotic expression, spirituality, and/or racial identity. These roots can span across multiple generations, often inviting us to tune in to our ancestral history.

While I assist people with various difficulties, some special areas of interest include care for First Responders, EMDR for the healing of painful memories, cancer and palliative care, & spiritual experiences ( transpersonal psychology).
I am registered as a Psychologist in Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador and practice Clinical and School Psychology for Children, Teens and Adults. I work from a holistic perspective that includes care for body, mind, and spirit. This holistic approach to psychological treatment works cooperatively with medical, naturopathic and alternative treatment modalities to promote wellness. I provide a rare therapeutic container for those navigating questions of meaning, purpose, vocation, and soulful living in a world that feels adrift. I work well with those who feel existentially unsettled – people navigating periods of transition, spiritual questioning, grief and loss, burnout, or a growing sense that inherited models of success no longer fit their inner life. For those who are drawn to symbolic and contemplative practices, and who are seeking a therapist who won’t pathologize their spiritual sensibility, I offer a reflective, grounded, and intellectually serious space.

I'm a transpersonal and psychospiritual psychotherapist.
As both a psychodynamic- and hospital-trained psychotherapist I listen, reflect, teach, ask good questions and help you find and use your own wisdom. I don’t use manualized treatments. My practice is integrative - I combine psychodynamic "talk" therapy, with aspects of CBT, DBT, IFS and trauma methods (somatic experiencing, Brain Spotting), in a mindful and transpersonal framework.
I spent years in research settings exploring depression in women, especially during times of hormonal changes. Although scientific findings inform my work, and I am happy to provide psychoeducation to clients, I am committed to an overall holistic approach that considers the interplay of biology, culture, spirituality, and social position to mental health.

As an RP (Qualifying) I am interested in helping individuals navigate the complexities of being a human in their own individual experiences holding a sacred and respectful space for all that arises while working together. I firmly believe that every person is shaped by their environment and that everyone enters this world with a unique purpose and inherently good intentions. It is through the human condition that trauma arises by way of experiences which can sometimes lead people away from their path of self-actualization. In each session clients are reminded of whole self, to guide them on their journey to acceptance and healing.

I believe that we each have an innate wisdom and a core self or spirit that strives for joy, peace and fulfillment. Despite this, we can often become overwhelmed with difficult emotions and feel stuck in ways of being which do not serve us. I embrace the learnings from my Spiritual Psychotherapy & Spiritual Direction training as well as my intuitive energy training. I adopt an eclectic approach which combines traditional talk therapy with spiritual practices . I view healing as a journey of self-discovery and increased awareness which takes one to a deeper place of understanding of self and greater mind-body spirit connectedness

Have you spent your entire life being ‘nice’, always putting others’ needs before your own and neglecting yourself? Do you feel that your ‘nice’ nature is being exploited and undermined, leaving you feeling nervous, insecure, confused or exhausted? Are you tired of hearing that the most toxic person in your life is a ‘nice’ person, when you know that they are actually narcissistic, intimidating, controlling and egotistical? I understand what it’s like to have a person or situation in your life that although at times supports you, also sometimes puts you down, makes you question yourself and believe that you are the problem.

You might not have a diagnosis or full understanding of the issue, but you feel something inside needs attention. You’re tired of old patterns—overworking, over accommodating, anxious, pushing things down—and want space to understand your emotions without judgment. You’re seeking clarity, steadiness, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others. You want to trust your intuition, express your needs, and feel grounded in your relationships. If this resonates, you’re already beginning the work of listening to yourself, and I’d be honoured to support you.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
