Healing is not about erasing pain but learning to coexist with it, finding peace and strength within life's inevitable struggles. As a psychotherapist, I create a space where healing is approached holistically, honouring the mind, body, and spirit. I believe therapy is more than symptom management; it's a journey toward deeper self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection with one's authentic self. Healing happens in moments of presence, in learning to trust oneself, and in embracing the complexity of the human experience.

You understand your childhood. You can name the patterns, trace the dynamics, explain exactly how it shaped you. But understanding hasn't changed how your body responds. You still brace when someone raises their voice. You still go quiet when you need something. You still feel that familiar flatness where emotion should be. Maybe you've done therapy before and it helped you see things more clearly. But the felt experience of being different hasn't caught up. That gap between knowing and feeling is real, and it isn't a failure of effort. It's where body-centered work begins. I offer a free 20-minute consultation.

Have you spent your entire life being ‘nice’, always putting others’ needs before your own and neglecting yourself? Do you feel that your ‘nice’ nature is being exploited and undermined, leaving you feeling nervous, insecure, confused or exhausted? Are you tired of hearing that the most toxic person in your life is a ‘nice’ person, when you know that they are actually narcissistic, intimidating, controlling and egotistical? I understand what it’s like to have a person or situation in your life that although at times supports you, also sometimes puts you down, makes you question yourself and believe that you are the problem.

I believe that we each have an innate wisdom and a core self or spirit that strives for joy, peace and fulfillment. Despite this, we can often become overwhelmed with difficult emotions and feel stuck in ways of being which do not serve us. I embrace the learnings from my Spiritual Psychotherapy & Spiritual Direction training as well as my intuitive energy training. I adopt an eclectic approach which combines traditional talk therapy with spiritual practices . I view healing as a journey of self-discovery and increased awareness which takes one to a deeper place of understanding of self and greater mind-body spirit connectedness

I help them reconnect with their own spirituality, heal spiritual trauma, and feel accepted for who they are.
You’re smart and motivated. You have the spark to create impact in this world. And there’s a part of you that already knows that. But you feel like you aren’t yet living up to your true potential. Something keeps holding you back. This leaves you feeling guilty and frustrated, and you believe you should have it figured out by now. You’re tired of band-aid fixes, and ready to get to the root cause of what’s holding you back. You deserve to have the clarity and confidence to pursue your life calling.

You want a therapist who understands why Jummah matters, and why mental health and spirituality aren't separate.
I provide trauma-informed therapy integrating EMDR, CBT, and DBT with Islamic Psychology principles. I specialize in anxiety, trauma (including complex and intergenerational trauma), and supporting neurodivergent children and families. My approach honors your faith while using evidence-based treatment—no choosing between spirituality and healing.

With over 20 years of experience, I work with people of all ages who are ready to explore, heal, and transform. Children, teens, adults, and seniors have all found their way to my practice, and what meets each of them is the same: a warm, creative space where they don’t have to have the right words to begin. As a passionate artist myself, I felt drawn to art as a modality for healing long before I had the language for why. My clients often arrive carrying grief, trauma, anxiety, or the quiet exhaustion of creeping burnout. Some are navigating major life transitions. All are looking for a way through.

I offer sliding scale spiritual care and psychotherapy serving LGBTQIA+ individuals. As a deeply spiritual queer-trans person and a person of faith, my lived experience informs my work. I accompany clients as they navigate hardships in their life and offer space for healing, growth, curiosity, and connection. In our sessions, we will begin with grounding before we move into our collaborative work to understand pieces of your history that impact who you are in the present. I challenge clients against hopelessness and dishonesty, and to empower them to strive for peace, authenticity, and healing from trauma.

Not all challenges respond to standard interventions. I work with a broad range of clients, amongst them those whose fast or layered thought processes, heightened sensitivity, or visionary orientation can place them out of step with conventional models. This includes professionals in high-responsibility roles balancing visible leadership with private complexity, as well as reflective individuals seeking a path that honours their actual experience.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” -Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. I believe that every person has inherent worth and is on a journey of healing, growth, and love. We all come with our own challenges and strengths. However, there may have been things that have made life not okay for you and that has brought on a layer of challenges that are heavy to hold alone. My commitment is to meet individuals, couples, and families in their process of making sense of the mysteries and difficulties in which we find ourselves and to offer encouragement, comfort, and hope.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
