A lot of the challenges we face—like people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, or feeling like a fraud—come from the state of our relationships, both with others and with ourselves. We live our lives in connection with other people, and it’s almost impossible not to be affected by how others see us. When we try too hard to avoid rejection, it can actually hold us back from living in a way that feels true and meaningful. This can leave us feeling even more unsure of ourselves—especially if we've been in toxic or abusive relationships.

I am an Imago-informed couples therapist specializing in structured communication, premarital counselling, post-marital transitions, and infidelity repair.
I guide couples and families through a structured conversation process. You sit facing each other and take turns speaking. One person talks while the other repeats back what they heard before responding. I guide each step so you slow down, listen to understand, and speak clearly. This creates safety, reduces defensiveness, and builds a stronger connection.

I see couples in therapy who tell me they are quarrelling too much or who have drifted apart. Often, they need help with slowing down, expressing their softer feelings and understanding their partner's emotions. I also see couples whose lives have been turned upside down by an extramarital affair and worry that there will never be trust again. I help them learn that an affair doesn't have to mean the end of a relationship. I also provide individuals coping with anxiety, depression and trauma from childhood, interfering with their present lives. Young adults and their parents see me for family therapy to improve their relationships.

I work with couples and families navigating infidelity, ongoing conflict, different needs or values, and feeling more like roommates than partners.
We are relational beings, so our relationships are incredibly important; when they aren’t working, everything else in life can start to feel unsteady. Relationships are where we experience the full spectrum of being human - love, joy, closeness, but also fear, shame, and vulnerability. Loving someone always involves real risk, and we all learn different ways of handling that risk: some of us chase, some of us pull away, some of us shut down or try to stay in control. When those strategies collide, even very loving couples can end up feeling distant, misunderstood, or at odds with each other.

Relationships should enrich your life—they should bring you more joy, depth, and safety than you’d experience without them. In my work, I know what’s at stake—I know about the comfort and vitality that secure relationships can bring us, and I know too about the fear and loneliness that we can fall into when by nature, we’ve stopped paying attention. These lows can leave us remembering our early days and wondering where we’ve gone wrong, or whether we’ve ever been right for each other from the start. I know the intense pain of losing hope.

Infidelity Counsellors
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
