I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) Neurofeedback, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support nervous system regulation, uncover subconscious patterns, and promote emotional balance.
Healing happens when we support the whole person, caring for not only the symptoms but also what's further beneath the surface. Emotional pain and trauma leave lasting marks on both the mind and body. That's why my work goes beyond traditional talk therapy, weaving in holistic practices to help promote deeper healing. I support teens and adults facing anxiety, depression, C-PTSD, personality and mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, self-esteem and perfectionism struggles, life transitions, and peer relationship challenges.

We often come to therapy wanting to feel better, perhaps to change old patterns that don’t align with the vision we have for our lives. Anxiety, depression, anger, PTSD, or personality disruption, difficulty in relationships and addiction are symptoms arising from deeper core (shame-based) wounds. These problematic symptoms surface as a way to cover up painful, enmeshed emotions that are unseen and unheard. I therefore aim to go to the source not the symptom: I specialize in emotion, in building self-compassion, and addressing toxic shame.

Drawing on training in trauma therapy, IFS, EMDR and somatic approaches, we’ll work together to gently explore what’s been held by your mind and your body.
I grew up afraid to take up space, make mistakes, or embarrass myself. I thought that if I stayed small and quiet, I could avoid judgment and rejection. Pain doesn’t always arrive loudly. For many of us, there’s no big moment that sent things off track. Just a quiet thread running through our story: a loneliness, a feeling of not being fully seen, an ache we learned to silence, or the heaviness of always being the strong one. I spent years trying to understand why I felt the way I did, and why healing stayed just out of reach. That search shaped everything.

Throughout life there are unpleasant experiences you have survived that directly impact the way you view yourself, others, and the world. Maybe you’re actively experiencing these events or are experiencing the effects of them years later. At times, the self you previously knew feels lost as unpleasant emotions such as anxiety, fear, and sadness increase in intensity and the things you used to enjoy are no longer providing you with a break. Continuing to avoid the uncomfortable is exhausting and repeats the cycle you are trying your best to stop.

I offer online psychotherapy sessions and EMDR in English and Brazilian Portuguese across Canada.
You don’t have to be in crisis to start therapy. Maybe you’ve already done some work, or maybe you just know it’s time to learn new ways of dealing with things and showing up in your relationships. I work best with people who are self-aware, open to reflection, and willing to engage in therapy as a process. Not a quick fix, but a place to make honest contact with yourself over time.

Our therapists often hear from clients who say, "I'm aware of what I need to do, but I struggle to take action." This sentiment may resonate with you. It's normal to feel unsure and anxious during times of crisis, family conflict, relationship issues, or any significant life changes. However, if these emotions hinder your progress, ignoring them won't make them go away. It's crucial to acknowledge your fears, pinpoint their origins, and take proactive steps to overcome them for your well-being.

I am trained in: CBT, DBT, MI, EMDR, Trauma, and Relapse Prevention.
I work with the high-functioning anxious or depressed overthinkers who appear “fine” on the outside but feel untethered, overwhelmed, stuck, or burnt out inside. They’ve spent years putting others first, struggling to slow down and connect with their values and body, sometimes feeling trapped in a cycle of unresolved feelings. Navigating big emotions, life transitions, grief, or past trauma, they seek warm, genuine, and relatable support. Many feel misunderstood, like awkward imposters, yet are often the funniest people. Their goals include living confidently, comfortably, and free from inner clouds and negative spirals.

Couples and families... You feel stuck in emotional or relationship patterns that no longer work. You may be navigating conflict with your partner, recovering from betrayal, feeling disconnected, or overwhelmed by anxiety and stress. EMDR Counsellors
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimising its ability to trigger anxiety.
