The people I often work with are struggling with the feeling that they don't belong anywhere - whether that be with friends, family or at school, or work. They feel like they aren't 'good enough,' to be in the spaces or roles that they are in. Some find their relationships complicated - with friends, family, or romantic partners - where people don’t understand their values and what they want. You deserve to be heard, you deserve to live life on your terms with your values, and you deserve to space to belong.

You might be navigating acculturation stress, anxiety about the future, or the lingering effects of past experiences, and perhaps you’re ready for a space where you don’t have to hold everything alone. In our time together, I support you in deepening self-understanding, shifting patterns and feeling more connected to self and others. Growing up in Japan and later immigrating to Canada as a teenager taught me the complexities of belonging, identity and change. Whether you feel stuck or isolated in your experience, we can begin to untangle what feels heavy in a space that allows you to slow down, process and imagine new possibilities.

While "trauma" may just sound like an empty buzzword, the truth is that once we have experienced it, it can consume almost every component of our lives. Our once enjoyable and fulfilling experiences appear to be a distant memory completely out of reach. Everyday life is now a struggle, our day-to-day goal is merely to survive. If this sounds in line with your past or current feelings then I am eager to work with you towards improving your quality of life. I am a compassionate and goal-driven psychotherapist dedicated to achieving gradual and yet profound improvement in your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

I chose this profession because I genuinely care about people and have a passion for helping individuals navigate life's difficulties. I offer a safe space for those who are bereaved and need to have their grief and loss witnessed, so they could begin the healing journey. I am trained in EMDR therapy, to aid clients in processing challenging emotions and memories, so that they do not have the same intensity. I also use CBT and DBT approaches, as well as mindfulness practices to helping them understand their emotions and invite them to practice coping strategies that meet their needs.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Maybe stress has been piling up—school, work, relationships, parenting, or just trying to keep everything together. You might feel stuck in negative thought patterns, weighed down by anxiety, or caught between past experiences and your hopes for the future. It’s not always easy to talk about these things, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and find new ways to move forward.
