My areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship issues, addictions, financial issues, anger management , bereavement, self-esteem, sexuality, transgendered/transexual, trauma, workplace issues, MVA, and eating disorders.
I offer counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. I work with clients to improve their resiliency and help to uncover their strengths. I use different modalities to meet the individual's needs. I use a client-centred approach that gives the client the ability to drive the sessions' goals. I help clients connect the dots between patterns that were established in their childhood and its manifestations in adult life. This aids in understanding the connection between the two and enables an exploration of ways to alter them.

While "spiritual" can often have a "religious" connotation, it more properly refers to all of the non-physical needs: hopes, fears, loneliness, anger , coping, etc.
I am a registered psychotherapist and spiritual care practitioner with recent experience at several busy Toronto area hospitals in treating paediatric, trauma and cancer patients, among others. I find fulfillment in supporting those individuals who are looking to navigate difficult points in their relationships, those who are struggling to come to terms with a recent or anticipated bereavement / loss and those who are having difficulty getting through their day-to-day activities. We all experience losses of one type or another. It is my goal to help you discover the best way to handle your difficulties and experiences of loss.

Managing our relationships, work, school, and life changes can feel overwhelming. You may be overthinking about friends, jobs and relationships, or having a difficult time developing and maintaining positive relationships with family, friends, or partners. While these challenges pile up, anxiety, anger , and sadness can start to cloud our thinking making it hard to tackle what we're experiencing on our own. Therapy can help us cope with what we're are going through, while also helping us learn more about ourselves along the way and regain control over parts of our life we felt we lost.

I work with clients in the areas of: depression & anxiety, grief & loss, trauma & abuse, anger management , self-esteem issues, boundaries, communication skills, life transitions, premarital counselling, marital relationship & family issues.
My passion is to walk along side with people during their journey towards healing and growth. I value each client as a unique individual, who deserves to be treated with compassion and respect. I believe that developing emotional maturity and gaining self-understanding are essential steps towards personal growth.Over the course of our lives, we all inevitably experienced some emotional wounds, which hinder us from personal growth. Counselling serves as a process to help us uncover those wounds and heal, and in the process, gain self-understanding and self-awareness, and be empowered to make changes towards holistic growth.

Anger Management Counsellors

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
