Using an eclectic framework, I’ve supported clients managing PTSD/c- PTSD, overwhelm, depression, OCD, shame/guilt, stressful workplaces & navigating identity and existential beliefs.
Welcoming New Clients - I help clients take back their mental and emotional power and shift from surviving to thriving in life. When the voice inside says, "What if everything goes wrong?", please consider, "What if it all were to go right?..." We must believe it's possible for something different to happen. Investing in our emotional and mental health helps us live life to the fullest. Just because pain points are old doesn't mean they're permanent. Sometimes it takes the fear of staying the same to motivate us to take the risk and rise to who we're meant to be. It's never too late to change the path you're on.

On the surface, you are the one who has it all together, but you know deep down that something has to change. You feel burnt out from constantly accommodating other people, and ignoring your own needs. You feel anxious, overwhelmed, and exhausted from keeping your emotions bottled up. You are tired of trying so hard and getting so little in return. Feelings of unworthiness, shame, and fear are holding you back from becoming the kind of person you have always wanted to be.

Trauma can effect people in any number of ways, where it is a one time trauma, complex trauma or childhood trauma.
I work with a number of therapeutic models so that I can pull in the best option to meet clients where they are on any given day. I work with these different models to help clients improve their executive functioning, reduce anxiety and depression, improve feelings of safety in the present day, and change the way they approach relationships.

More often than not, an individual’s history involves significant life events that has caused stress, loss, pain, or trauma.
My approach is trauma focused as I believe every individual has experience with events that activate our nervous system's "fight, flight, freeze" response. I apply this approach using therapeutic methods and psychoeducation on the nervous system. Understanding your emotional, cognitive, and behavioural responses, is a valuable resource in your therapy.

No matter where we are in life, we are vulnerable to experiencing overwhelming and unexpected challenges. Many of us, have moved through life without learning how to manage these difficult emotions in an adaptive and helpful way. As a result, we are prevented from connecting to our true emotional world and reject some of the core parts of ourselves. Left unacknowledged, these parts of ourselves can influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and keep us stuck repeating old, unfulfilling patterns.

With 15 years of clinical experience, Greer integrates EMDR (Certified) and IFS Level 1 & 2 training to support clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.
You’ve likely already tried to figure things out—but something still isn’t shifting. I help clients move beyond understanding into real, lasting change using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we work with the parts of you that hold anxiety, past experiences, and patterns that don’t shift, so you can feel more grounded, clear, and in control. I offer both weekly therapy and, when appropriate, intensive sessions for those looking to move through things more quickly. Clients also receive reflective session summaries to support integration between sessions.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
