I assist individuals navigating the challenges of parenthood while coming to terms with the limitations of their own childhood experiences. I support those striving to avoid burnout but feeling uncertain about where to establish boundaries in their home, workplace, or relationships with family and friends. Additionally, I guide those who find themselves questioning their identities during life transitions and frequently comparing themselves to others.

Struggling with the realities of life and big life changes while managing anxiety or depression can be exhausting. These pivotal times can also be the most lonely. Mental health looks and feels different for everyone, and I believe that the power of therapy becomes stronger when the connection between the client and the therapist is built on a deep understanding. Life can be tough, but it can feel a hundred times tougher when you are doing it alone.

I offer in-person therapy in St.
I see you. You’re the person who keeps giving to everyone else, managing responsibilities, and trying to do it all perfectly, but inside you feel burnt out or stuck. Maybe you struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling like you’re never enough. Perhaps relationships feel complicated, or past experiences keep showing up in ways that hold you back. You want more than just coping, you want balance, and a sense of confidence that comes from truly understanding yourself. You want to feel grounded in your choices, connected in your relationships, and more at peace with who you are, even when life feels messy.

I offer in-person and virtual with some evening availability.
Have you ever wondered what’s underneath the anxiety, the panic attacks, the overthinking, or the people-pleasing? Often, these patterns are your nervous system’s way of coping after years of quietly managing and finding ways to regulate yourself. Lately, though, it might be starting to affect your wellbeing, your relationships, and how you see yourself. You might notice subtle shifts in your perspective or you may begin to look at relationships differently, feeling unsettled or confused. Your inner knowing may be lost within the anxious or repetitive thoughts that keep showing up.

Whether you're dealing with academic or situational stress, shifting relationships, or just trying to figure out "what's next," I'm here to offer a supportive space and skills to navigate the process. I believe understanding how past experiences (especially those from childhood) have shaped your present-day struggles is key to finding relief and lasting change. In addition to working with adults, I have a deep passion for working with children, youth, and young adults as they venture through the fast-paced, demanding, and often confusing world we live in.

I currently offer in person sessions in the Niagara Region, and tele-counselling or video counselling to Ontario residents.
Life is not always what we expect it to be, and navigating our goals and expectations can be challenging. In counselling, I apply my skills and knowledge from my Social Work education and specialized training, as well as my lived experiences as a Korean- Canadian, transracial adoptee, and someone who has learned from personal experiences of mental health and trauma. I am dedicated to supporting, educating, advocating, and empowering clients through life, whether it is regarding stress, self-esteem, trauma, anxiety and depression, but also through times of transitions, accomplishments and personal growth.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
