You love your child more than anything and want a safe, caring, and fun environment where they feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and feelings. I believe that children are highly resilient and intuitive, and that therapy can be an effective and rewarding way to help them access the strengths they already possess. You may also be carrying childhood hurts or navigating ongoing challenges of your own. With the right therapeutic relationship, along with practical strategies and tools, I am confident you cannot only process past trauma and relationship difficulties, but also move toward meaningful, positive change for yourself.

Virtual, Phone, and In Person sessions available (in person in Niagara Falls, ON and Port Colborne, ON). Sometimes things can feel overwhelming. We can lose focus, motivation, or feel lost. That is okay, and absolutely normal. Having a supportive and safe space to express yourself, without fear of judgement can be beneficial. Identifying your goals, barriers, and your priorities can help organize your thoughts and start the path to healing. It can be tough to look forward when you are feeling stuck in one spot. Recognizing and reminding yourself of your strengths can be empowering.

Understanding feelings of confusion, exhaustion, or isolation in relationships requires examining early attachment patterns. Codependent behaviors, such as suppressing your true self for approval/validation, prioritizing others’ needs over your own, or focusing solely on another person, create unhealthy dynamics. These patterns frequently attract individuals with narcissistic, dismissive/avoidant or patriarchally dominant personalities, leading to emotionally tough relationships.

Do you suffer from intense emotions that you can’t seem to get under control? Maybe it feels like constantly being bombarded with intrusive thoughts or images that you just can’t get out of your head. Maybe you feel like no one really knows you or that you’ve never fully belonged. Maybe you work so hard every day to portray like everything is together but in the back of your mind there an insidious worry that things might just fall apart at any moment. Wherever you are at right now, I will meet you there and work with you to create a treatment plan that allows you to meet your own goals.

A loss of sense of self can impact daily life, relationships, and overall fulfillment, leaving many people feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or uncertain as they navigate both personal and external expectations. In the midst of life’s pressures, discovering a grounded and authentic self can seem challenging, and without addressing this inner conflict, feelings of disconnection and low selfworth may deepen. But even when it feels difficult, rediscovering your authentic self is within reach. By taking time to reflect on what truly matters, your values, passions, and inner strengths, you can begin to regain that confidence.

You’ve been carrying so much for so long, balancing high expectations, family responsibilities, and the pressure to always appear strong. On the outside, you’re holding everything together, but inside, it may feel overwhelming, confusing, or exhausting. If you’re feeling torn between who you’ve been for others and who you want to be for yourself, you’re not alone. Taking this step toward therapy is courageous, and I honour the vulnerability it takes to be here.

Sometimes life can feel heavy. You may be feeling emotionally drained, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you're carrying the quiet weight of exhaustion from life transitions, cultural pressures, inner criticism, or unresolved negative experiences. All of these things build up and make managing your day-to-day a burden. Whatever you're holding, you don't have to face it all on your own. Support is possible, and healing can begin right where you are. Together, we’ll work to ease the weight of your experiences and move toward healing at your pace.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
