Using a collaborative approach, I tailor therapy to your needs, drawing from ACT, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and attachment-based therapy to foster your growth and well-being.
Do you often catch yourself overthinking, second-guessing your decisions, or feeling as though you're not good enough? Anxiety, stress, depression, low self esteem, ADHD, OCD, relationship issues and trauma can lead to self-doubt, and leave you feeling stuck, questioning your own value. Despite your efforts to keep everything in order these challenges hinder your ability to relax and fully enjoy the moment. Let's work together to silence your inner critic and gain confidence in your choices, help you establish boundaries without guilt and place your own needs as a priority. Together we can develop healthy coping skills and tools!

My approach uses an attachment-based, trauma-informed framework, meaning my work is often experiential, and emotionally and relationally focused.
I believe that vitality and the chance to flourish happens when it’s safe enough to honestly be yourself. I consider it a privilege to accompany people through their pain, coping, self-discovery, healing, transformation, and joy. For the last 15 years, I have served in my community's social services field, working alongside people living through trauma, substance use and addictions, poverty, mental health dual-diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and criminality.

My approach is client-centered, blending evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma specific and attachment-based methods to empower you to make meaningful changes.
I believe you are already holding the keys to experience and embrace the inner wholeness you deserve. There are many opportunities for us to be hurt in life and in relationships. The problem is that we can carry these emotional wounds and even physical scars for a long time and spend our energy trying to conceal them. However, if you have come this far I believe you want more than this. It’s your time to discover the healing you deserve. It’s time to give yourself permission to journey towards wholeness and to live your life with clarity and a new sense of purpose.

Hi. I can imagine the steps leading you here today have involved some tough times. I know how difficult it is finding a therapist, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotional, scared. Or maybe things are going pretty well and you’re looking to grow. Either way, I think we all deserve every chance to prove ourselves, to ourselves in the one life we've been given here. That’s what I’m trying to do, at least. The only way I know how. Through reflection, listening, awareness, connection, and growth. I do this with folks who might need somenone to help them navigate anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, and trauma.

Do you feel like you are constantly giving to others, feel lost or confused about who you are, and what brings you joy or pleasure? Folks that prioritize everyone else around them end up exhausted and have no energy left. I work with people to help them find what they need – it could be validation, acknowledgement, finding the things that bring them joy, or discovering what pleasure feels like in their body. I will aid you in exploring the sensations in your body to figure out what brings joy, relaxation, or stress so you have the ability to navigate between emotions and so you can live the life you want to live

My work includes attachment-based, mindfulness, narrative, and strength-based therapies, tailored to individual needs.
Feeling stuck in painful patterns? Maybe you keep repeating the same relationship struggles, battling self-doubt, or feeling like no matter what you do, you're not enough. Anxiety, low self-worth, and emotional exhaustion are taking a toll, and you just want relief. You don’t have to keep living this way. The weight you're carrying—past wounds, self-sabotaging cycles, deep-rooted fears—can be released. Through Inner Child Healing and trauma-informed care, we’ll uncover how your past experiences have shaped your present, and more importantly, how you can break free.

Attachment-based Counsellors

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
