Are you feeling stuck, anxious, down or disconnected? Even if you’ve built a successful life, it’s possible to feel weighed down by self-doubt or worry. For 30 years, I’ve helped people get to the roots of what’s holding them back.
One fundamental truth that I have learned over the years is: What we have experienced, we expect. We won’t just focus on surface "fixes" for your symptoms (e.g., social anxiety, traumatic fears, and non-assertiveness); we will work together to understand their root causes and dismantle and heal them so that they can be replaced by new authentic ways of being within yourself, others, and the world.

I believe that we are all in a continuous process of identifying our internal resources, embracing our own creativity and mobilizing our psychic energy. My aim for therapy is to help my clients arrive at a personal, yet structured and novel, understanding of themselves, others and the world around them. I invite my clients to enrich their personal narratives and use their own unique abilities and skills. Each session is a collaborative attempt to elaborate on the client’s mental map. Each conversation is a mutual dialogue on how you could experience yourself differently.

Taking responsibility for ourselves and our experience of life begins with embracing our trials and tribulations, and facing them head on. This fosters a connection with the source of our power that builds resilience to manage whatever may come. Developing the resourcefulness required to fashion a life that is fulfilling and supportive of our overall well-being is an ever-evolving process, and can be more clearly navigated with the help of a trusted professional. Using a person-centred, culturally-, and trauma-informed approach, I aim to empower people to improve their quality of life through organic and systematic processes.

Many people I work with feel caught between cultures and expectations—trying to meet others’ standards while losing touch with themselves. They may feel anxious, burned out, or stuck in old family patterns. What they often want is to feel more grounded, understood, and confident setting boundaries. Together, we work toward healing, balance, and a life that feels genuine and aligned with who they are.

Some struggles do not look dramatic from the outside. A child sits over homework and cannot begin. An adult reaches evening with too much unfinished. A parent becomes the voice they never wanted to use. I work with children, teens, adults, and parents facing ADHD, anxiety, burnout, screen conflict, school/work pressure, low confidence, emotional intensity, and strained relationships. I am a physician, psychotherapist, educator, and systems thinker. I look beneath the problem to the pattern: sleep, stress, body, habits, family, school, work, and environment. Then we build a way forward that is clear, humane, and usable in real life.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
