After years of working in both private practice and with our local Family Health Team, I bring a broad and compassionate perspective to the many challenges we encounter as human beings.
With a focus on helping clients process painful childhood experiences, trauma and the resulting defenses and problematic behaviour and addictions, I draw on approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I work with individuals struggling with addiction and support couples in building deeper understanding, healing, and connection.

As a relational therapist, I challenge and cheerlead through an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, intersectional lens, drawing from EFT, DBT, and attachment theory.
You care about doing good work. Which is exactly why you second-guess yourself.
You leave sessions wondering if you missed something. You replay conversations on the drive home. You wonder if everyone else feels more confident than you do.
I offer Clinical Supervision for Registered Psychotherapists and RP(Qualifying) and RSSWs that's practical, honest and grounded in what this work actually looks like. We'll talk through cases, private practice, ethics, boundaries, burnout, or whatever's been taking up space in your head. Let’s help you build a therapist identity that feels like you.

My integrative approach for individuals pulls from various interventions like cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy ( DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused, somatic, attachment theory and positive psychology models.
Every person goes through multiple transitions in their life at different ages, specifically in adolescence and throughout adulthood. Change can sometimes, bring you unexpected stress, anxiety, feelings of overwhelm or helplessness. When your usual coping tools are no longer working, or you are experiencing an increase in negative thinking, emotional reactivity and maladaptive behaviours, then finding a psychotherapist to work with and help you to identify new goals, explore alternative coping skills and co-create a therapeutic plan to help navigate life stressors can be helpful.

Practice is temporarily paused (July 2026)
As a couples therapist, I help partners move out of cycles of disconnection to a place where they feel seen, supported, and understood. I also work with individuals, families, and youth —both virtually and in person—creating a supportive space to slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin building healthier patterns of connection. Together, we focus on clarity, healing, and meaningful change.

Many of my clients are quietly running on empty - exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, even when life looks fine from the outside. This might be the executive holding it together at work, the caregiver who hasn't had a moment to themselves in years, or anyone who's spent so long putting others first they've lost touch with who they are. Whatever brought you here - insomnia, burnout, anxiety, trauma, or any sense that something needs to shift - I offer warm, science-based therapy integrating CBT, ACT, EFT, mindfulness, and self-compassion, working toward clarity, balance, better sleep, and renewed sense of self.

Our bodies hold deep wisdom, through which we were healing is not only possible, we are innately wired for it. When we've lived through trauma, chronic stress, or challenging relationships, the way we experience ourselves and others can leave us feeling that hope is out of reach. Growth is possible when we are able to feel deeply seen and heard.

Welcome, I’m Alicia. I use EMDR therapy to process trauma and experiences that still shape how you feel, think, and respond. This work targets what remains stuck beneath the surface and creates real, lasting change. Together, we make sense of patterns, build self-trust, and shift how you relate to yourself and others. My style is direct, grounded, and attuned, offering a space that is both supportive and focused, where meaningful work can unfold.
Alongside trauma work, I support athletes and creatives in clearing blocks, accessing flow, and performing with clarity and confidence.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
