I believe a small change in just one person doesn’t only change them, it can change relationships, family, community and future generations. Together we will determine goals, as well as identifying what achieving these goals might look like. I will strive to meet your treatment needs in the most effective and efficient way possible. My first priority when introduced to a potential new client or family is to get to know you, and to discuss your hopes in terms of working with me.

I am an experienced clinician (over 15 years at CAMH) with training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I work with people who are feeling stuck either through the result of a recent event or due to long-standing issues that are now causing distress. Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, substance use concerns or have a history of trauma. Some of my clients are looking for short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions while others have tried brief therapy and are looking for longer term psychodynamically oriented treatment to make change at a deeper level. Sometimes people don't have clearly defined goals for treatment other than they want to feel better. That's okay.

My approach is rooted in using a psychodynamic approach and using EMDR to help make shifts in your life and meet each client where they are at.
I specialize working with young adults and seniors. As a therapist, my goal is to make sure you are provided with a comfortable and empathetic environment, built on trust and transparency. I use a collaborative therapeutic approach, and I work with you to develop an action plan; integrating evidence-based practices that suit your needs. Therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” method, therefore working together to find what works best is key.

I work from an eclectic, person-centered lens rooted in psychodynamic, relational, and somatic interventions—plus some ACT, DBT, and parts work magic.
You might be carrying a lot—trauma that lingers, a brain that works differently (hello, ADHD), or the weight of navigating cultural or racial identity in spaces that don’t always get it. Maybe you’ve felt like you’re too much and not enough at the same time. You might want to feel more grounded, build better boundaries, unlearn shame, or just make sense of your story. If you are from a South Asian (or similar) culture, or neurodivergent, or simply feeling out of sync, I offer a space where you don’t have to explain the basics—you can just be.

My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and draws from psychodynamic and humanistic therapy.
From feeling overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted to stuck in repetitive cycles—life can feel lonely and isolating. My path to becoming a therapist began by witnessing how often pain goes unseen and unsupported. I realized the deep need for spaces where people feel genuinely heard and accepted without judgment. As a Pre-Licensed Professional and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I aim to walk alongside you with empathy and compassion. You're not alone—healing is possible, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.

My goal is to turn off the "Auto-Pilot" and begin living presently by using psychodynamic/somatic interventions to help clients dig deep.
Accepting clients! On the surface, you may be experiencing a variety of symptoms that are causing you to feel dysfunctional, unable to manage or cope with your every day life. These symptoms are not only impacting the way you feel, but in the way you’re functioning and interacting with everyone and everything else in your life. You are struggling to put words to the pain and unsure of where to begin. You want to have functionality, fulfillment and happiness but it feels so out of reach. You want to get to a place of deeper understanding to cope and regulate better, and go from surviving to living. Welcome to your journey.

Psychodynamic Counsellors

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
