In 2014, I became a Certified Sex Recovery Therapist through the American Association of Sex Addiction Therapists, which has given me the tools and expertise to support men struggling with sexual addiction and other destructive habits.
I support men dealing with sexual performance anxiety and those grappling with same-sex attraction, always making sure to create a safe, non-judgmental space. My therapeutic style focuses on the connection between childhood trauma, abuse, shame, abd adult addiction-helping clients uncover the root causes so they can create real, lasting change.

Maybe you are a parent feeling worn down by daily power struggles, big emotions, school stress, attention challenges, or questions about ADHD or Autism. Or you are pregnant or newly postpartum and feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or not like yourself. You may also be in a relationship where communication keeps turning into conflict or shutdown. You want clarity, practical tools, and a calmer, more connected home.

Life feels heavier than it should. Anxiety or depression won’t switch off. Substances, gambling, or doom-scrolling creep in. You want therapy that is steady, non-judgmental, and practical. I work with adults and teens on mood, stress, men’s issues, identity, and relationships. My style is warm and direct: understand what hurts, decide what matters, and take small steps that restore energy, purpose, and connection. Sessions are collaborative and paced to you

In a leadership position at work? In a leadership AKA a caregiver position at home? You do the work to keep it together on the outside, but on the inside, the anxiety keeps building. Yup. I’ve been there too. Let’s work together, figure out what’s happening for you, and create customized tools to support you in navigating it all. But, maybe you're not here for anxiety. Maybe you're here because sex and sexuality isn’t what you expected. Maybe you’re here because you want to sex to feel good instead of confusing, painful, or anxiety-inducing. Whatever brought you here, this is a space where we can discuss it all - judgement free.

Hi, I’m Dave. If pornography has become something you keep going back to, even when you do not want to, you are not alone. Maybe it started as stress relief or a way to shut your brain off. Now it leaves you feeling frustrated, ashamed, or disconnected from yourself and the people around you. You may have tried to cut back, made promises to yourself, or told yourself this is the last time. If it is affecting your confidence, focus, relationships, or sex life, therapy can help you understand what is driving it and start making real changes. I work with men dealing with pornography addiction, compulsive sexual behaviour, shame, stress

Sexual Addiction Counsellors
When should someone seek treatment for sex addiction?
People should seek treatment for sex addiction if they cannot control their sexual thoughts or behaviours to the point that it disrupts their ability to function in daily life, for example by threatening their finances, career, or relationships. This may include spending an excessive amount of time obsessing over sex, planning sex, watching pornography, or masturbating, as well as consistently engaging in risky sexual activities, using sex to escape distressing feelings, or attempting yet failing to control sexual behaviour.

What are the most common treatment options for sex addiction?
Psychotherapy is the most common treatment for sex addiction; therapy helps patients better understand their compulsive thoughts and behaviours and develop strategies to manage their desires. Therapy may be supplemented by medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-androgens, alcohol and substance use medications, as well as support groups, such as 12-step programs.

How long does therapy take for sex addiction?
Recovering from compulsive behaviour takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but research suggests 12 therapy sessions may be enough to see change. Treatment for sexual compulsions requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers and developing coping skills, and potential lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol or drugs.

What if sex addiction is left untreated?
Compulsive sexual behaviour can have serious repercussions if left unaddressed. For example, if sexual obsessions consume the vast majority of a person’s time, they may lose their job. If they can’t stop paying for sex, their finances may suffer. If they’re dishonest in their relationships, their partner may leave them. If they consistently feel shame, they may struggle with anxiety, depression, or loneliness. Therapy can help people develop the tools to manage sexual thoughts and behaviours that feel uncontrollable.
