I focus on relationship concerns and sex therapy for individuals and couples.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and unable to cope with the hand you've been dealt? Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we feel lost, alone, and that it is getting harder to enjoy ourselves in the world and our relationships. Anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual concerns, and relationship issues are some of the things we can work through together to help get you back to enjoying life. I work with individuals and couples to explore patterns, ways of thinking, and underlying issues that have an impact on current experiences.

Have you experienced trauma? Do you oscillate between feeling overwhelmed and anxious, to numb and detached? Do you think that you will never measure up or be "good enough"? We adapt to our environment as a means of ensuring our survival. Perhaps you've learned to adapt by withdrawing from others, or neglecting your own needs. It may have helped to stay endlessly busy, never allowing yourself a break, or using aggression to protect yourself. Regardless of how you have adapted or coped with what happened to you, I firmly believe we can heal from trauma and find inner peace.

I support individuals navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, identity shifts, emotional overwhelm, and parenting stress. I have a particular interest in working with those carrying the weight of multiple roles, exploring trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer fit. Life can shift unexpectedly, and I offer a grounded, supportive space to slow down, explore what’s beneath the surface, and reconnect with the parts of you that already know how to adapt and endure. My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, with the option to integrate spirituality if that is meaningful to you.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. Are you questioning "should I stay or leave my relationship?". Perhaps one partner is leaning out, feeling distant or exhausted, while the other is desperate to repair things. Maybe you love each other but feel stuck in the same painful cycle. Or perhaps you are quietly wondering, “Is this relationship healthy, or am I ignoring something important?”. Relationship ambivalence can feel paralyzing. I specialize in supporting individuals and couples experiencing relationship crisis, emotional disconnection, or uncertainty about the future of their relationship.

Have you been stuck in a cycle with your partner for years and have tried everything you know how to fix it? You’ve considered therapy, but you think you need support right away and fast. I offer couples therapy intensives, during which I work with a couple for 4 to 6 hours. Many couples find this process effective, as it covers a lot of ground in a short period of time. To start the process, we will meet for a 90-minute initial assessment session, during which I will gather your relationship history, explore the events that have led to your current cycle, and develop a plan of action for the intensive.

Together we strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild healthy communication, resolve conflict, and navigate sex therapy or gender-related concerns with honesty and compassion.
My ideal clients are Christians in Ontario who feel stuck in their closest relationships. You may be a couple dealing with repeated conflict, poor communication, emotional outbursts, or sexual intimacy struggles. You might also be an individual, parent, or young adult wrestling with gender dysphoria or identity questions while wanting to honour your faith. You may come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, ashamed, disconnected from your spouse or from God, and tired of surface-level coping skills that don’t bring lasting change. You want help that integrates biblical truth with practical, evidence-based tools.

Sex Therapy
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
