My ideal client is someone who senses that there is more to this life and is ready to reach for it. You may have tried other therapies, psychedelics, tried changing jobs or even changing relationships. You want more peace, joy, connection, and empowerment in your life. You need someone who will listen and empathize with you but also provide challenge and direction in service of your goals. You may also have the sense that traditional talk therapy doesn't work for you. You want to explore pathways to healing and change and are ready to face both the gold and the shadow within.

Since 2012, I've worked with people experiencing trauma, anxiety & depression. People with these issues often feel trapped or stuck, feeling unable to change, frustrated with themselves, or even hopeless. As we work together, you will start to recognize your emotions and learn how to stop them from taking over. You'll shift from feeling trapped by overwhelming fears and sadness to knowing why you feel this way and what to do about it.

Therapeutic art and somatic processing allow for deeper learning, acceptance and healing.
Many people come to therapy not because everything is falling apart, but because something inside feels tight, muted, or out of reach. You may be functioning well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself on the inside. My work is Gestalt-informed, body-based, and art-centered, which means we pay attention to what emerges through sensation, emotion, image, and lived experience, not just words. You don’t need to be creative, broken, or in crisis to come. Therapy here is a place to slow down, listen inwardly, and reconnect with what feels real, alive, and true for you. You are not alone.

In almost all of lifes circumstances we're either mourning something that did happen to us or feeling incomplete because of something that didn't. Oftentimes, the result of of this suffering makes us feel as though we have no choices in life, which makes it grueling to navigate through day-to-day life. If you feel as though emotions control your life, that you are stuck on survival mode, that you are lost, or that you have disconnected from your needs, I can help. My role as your therapist begins by establishing a mutual committment to transparency, honesty, & responsibility. Confronting reality is the only path towards change...

Are you anxious or weighed down by worry? Do life’s challenges leave you exhausted or feeling disconnected from friends, family, or even yourself? We all struggle to manage the pressures of daily life, and at times we can feel stuck—losing touch with our sense of peace, purpose, and joy. Stress may come from what’s happening now or from past experiences that still shape how we see ourselves and the world. These challenges can hold us back from living authentically and moving toward the life we want.

Are your thoughts constantly working against you-overthinking, second-guessing, or expecting the worst? Maybe past experiences still show up in ways you can’t ignore, shaping how you feel, react, or show up in your relationships. You might look like you’re holding it together on the outside, but inside it feels heavy, frustrating, or stuck. Reaching out for support isn’t easy-but it’s a strong first move. This is a space where you can be real, without judgment, and start making sense of what’s been holding you back so you can actually move forward.

Your mind doesn’t shut off-it jumps from one thing to the next, with half-finished tasks piling up around you. You feel overwhelmed, scattered, and constantly behind, even when you’re trying your best. Maybe it’s ADHD, ongoing stress, or a life transition that’s thrown everything off track. You start the day with good intentions, but end it feeling frustrated, exhausted, and stuck in the same cycle, wondering why it feels so hard to stay organized, focused, or on top of things -no matter how hard you try, or how many systems you’ve already tried and abandoned along the way.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
