We are shaped by our relationships and by the stories we carry about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Sometimes, these stories keep us feeling stuck or disconnected. I believe therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and begin to see things with more clarity and compassion. Through calm noticing and gentle exploration, we can begin to make sense of what feels overwhelming, reconnect with ourselves, and move toward change.

New May 2026 - Are you between 25-35 years old and find yourself grappling with the past, were raised by emotionally immature (or narcissistic) parents, struggle with setting boundaries, are in a codependent relationship, or feel responsible for the emotions of others while neglecting your own? Is your body constantly in fight, flight or freeze mode, and you can't seem to break the unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck? It's infuriating to intellectually know what to do and not be able to DO it (or stick to it).

I work with people that have challenges with Substance Use, Trauma, Relational issues, Sex and Sexuality.
Accepting new clients! I am a trauma therapist who specializes in eating disorders and addictions. I am frequently taken by the amount of pain and suffering in the world, I have learned that through these moments we can find the most growth, strength, and beauty. Often we can get stuck in-between these painful moments and a new way of being, That's often what brings people to therapy. Our work together may be a journey to help you get unstuck or out of the place of crisis and to find a sense of safety. I feel it is a privilege to be able to be a part of someone's journey and be able to walk along beside them.

I have found great purpose in working over 20 years in diverse mental health & substance use settings providing crisis, long-term counselling, and case management.
My approach is warm, authentic, thoughtful, and grounded in helping people feel safe as they explore what is happening in their lives. Together, we can identify patterns, understand what may be driving them, and build practical tools for emotional regulation, connection, and change.

I specialize in working with high-functioning adults who are experiencing trauma and relational wound, emotional sensitivity or intensity, depression and underlying shame, repeating relationship patterns, substance use or other coping behaviours.
On the outside, you may seem like you have it all together, balancing work, relationships, and responsibilities with care. But on the inside, it can feel overwhelming at times. You might notice yourself stuck in familiar patterns, questioning why certain struggles keep resurfacing despite your best efforts. I work with thoughtful, self-aware individuals who are ready for something to shift. People who are motivated for change, yet find themselves navigating emotional intensity, relationship challenges, or relying on coping strategies such as alcohol or other habits that no longer feel aligned with who they want to be.

I help with anxiety, depression, substance use, and relational issues using a psychodynamic & attachment lens alongside CBT, ACT, and DBT.
My philosophy is that the past builds our being through the experiences we had and the lessons we learned. These experiences help to shape our sense of meaning and personal fulfilment through our journey. Therefore, I believe that it is important to explore the past and see how it shapes our experience in relation to ourselves and others. I incorporate this perspective in my work with clients and help to emphasize the power of choice, explore unmet needs and help to explore important areas for boundary setting.

Living in a capitalist society can often make us feel burned-out, chronically anxious, depressed and alienated from those we love the most. Too often, we are "working for the weekend", and when it comes we have precious little time to spend doing the things that bring us meaning and strengthen our most important relationships. There’s a huge disconnect between the conditions in which we evolved and how we now live. I help people to heal from unmet needs during development by uncovering and working to shift adaptations (now maladaptive). I specialize in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership with Flowstate Therapy.

Since 2005, I have worked with adults seeking support based on concerns related to difficulties with negative emotions (like anger, anxiety, depression, or shame), behaviours that impact their work or relationships (like aggression, addictions, or compulsions), or patterns in their relationships that prevent them from feeling good about themselves or developing more satisfying connections. I will help you explore the origins of these concerns and work with you to emancipate yourself from these struggles.

Real change, healing, and growth happens from the inside out. This is a process of mutual empowerment that occurs through our genuine relationships, as we bring parts of ourselves and hidden parts of our experience into the light of a compassionate awareness. In psychotherapy we can create an authentic space of acceptance to explore life's troubles with compassion, curiosity, and courage. Together we may discover, become, heal, and grow. Whatever brings you to psychotherapy, it is with respect and gratitude that I commit to walk beside you on this path. "A journey of a thousand miles begins where one is and taking a single step."

Substance Use Counsellors
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
