I work with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress, panic attacks, and difficulties adjusting to chronic health issues.
I hope my experience, sense of humour, authenticity, and commitment help create a strong therapeutic alliance and collaboration with my clients. My goal is always to ensure that every client feels safe and supported as they move towards what matters to them in life. To do so, I integrate strategies from evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, EFT, and ACT.

I provide bilingual (French/English) psychological services to adults and older adults who are experiencing a variety of challenges including: sleep disorders, chronic insomnia, anxiety, depression, traumatic stress-related issues & PTSD, grief & significant losses, life transitions as well as adjusting to living with major life changes (including injury and illness).
I am collaborative in my approach with clients and create a structured process in which we explore ways of thinking, behaviors, and feelings in a non-judgemental atmosphere. I also help clients identify patterns of behaviors and ways of thinking that may have been helpful at one point in time but that may not be useful anymore. Depending on the nature of the presenting issues, I also favor prioritizing the use of interventions or treatments that are informed by the scientific literature in psychology.

We use a blend of approaches to achieve this goal, including neurofeedback, yoga therapy, somatic experiencing, sensory integration, lifestyle change, sleep therapy, EMDR.
Imagine feeling trapped in a whirlpool of anxiety, unable to pause and take a breath. Or envision a racing mind that won’t slow down enough to focus on the strategies that could help. Conventional therapies might have all the right answers, but the body refuses to cooperate. You know WHAT to do, but your body and brain won't listen! Whether it’s extreme anxiety, hypervigilance, or attention deficit problems, challenges often lie in a constant battle between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems that leave many people caught in an unproductive cycle.

Having your life disrupted by insomnia isn’t just physically exhausting.
Common solutions attempt to mask symptoms. Together we’ll take a different approach. We’ll work on reducing the hyperarousal (heightened alertness) that is blocking your sleep. As a certified sleep coach and former insomniac, I’m passionate about partnering with my clients to provide the education, support, and tools to make overcoming insomnia possible.

I specialize in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and sleep disturbances.
You are tired of feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Every day feels like a new battle against stress, anxiety, and the weight of past trauma. You want to be able to feel like yourself again, to see genuine progress, and for others to notice this change within you. You avoid opening up with those around you because it is easier to distract yourself than to worry constantly. Despite your best efforts, it seems impossible to turn off your thoughts. You may look good on the outside, but something inside does not feel right.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
