I offer individual and couple counselling.
The counselling process is similar to carefully peeling back the layers of an onion. You need to feel safe and in control as the layers of your story are revealed. Together, we uncover deeper parts of the self that may be hidden from conscious thought ... old scripts and tapes that are still playing today and causing you pain and anxiety. You can change your life by bringing these old patterns and voices into the light of day for examination. My work is to support, guide, and challenge you so you can empower yourself to deal with past issues and present concerns.

I work with a wide range of patients of all ages, providing both individual, couple, and group therapy.
Starting therapy is a delicate and important decision. That is why, before proposing a treatment, the patient and I usually undergo an assessment phase. During the first sessions, I can learn about your current situation, story, and goals, which allows me to determine the best course of action and ensure that I am the best fit for your needs.

Many of the people I work with are BIPOC women who are tired of being “the strong one,” moms trying to heal after a stressful pregnancy or birth, newcomers, and couples who feel disconnected.
You’re tired of acting like everything is fine while your mind keeps spiraling into worst‑case scenarios. On the outside, you look put‑together, but insid,e you’re overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted from constantly bracing for something to go wrong. You don’t have to face any of this alone. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and stronger, inside and out.

As an existential therapist, I aim to help clients face themselves rather than fix themselves. This involves a process of honest self-confrontation that is immersive, introspective, and often demanding. Existential therapy calls for personal courage, emotional openness, and a willingness to engage with difficult truths. Clients are invited to question long-held assumptions, challenge limiting narratives, and examine inner contradictions. This work asks them to look closely at how they are showing up in their lives, confront avoidance and denial, and take full responsibility for the shape and direction of their existence.

Marriage Counselling

How does marriage counseling work?

Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?

Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?

Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?

Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
