My ideal clients are individuals, couples, or families navigating complex dynamics, trauma, or life transitions. They may feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection, or self-doubt and are looking for a safe, supportive space to heal and grow. Many long for healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, and freedom from past wounds. Their goals often include breaking cycles, finding clarity, and creating a life rooted in meaning, resilience, and connection. They want tools that last, because they’re ready for real change.

There are many factors in life that contribute to each individual experiencing some level of stress. This is the result of any number of unique diverse variables. When that stress becomes unmanageable it can lead to a multitude of mental health issues and distress. I can support and help individuals, couples, or families implement and learn effective skills to cope with these.

A key element in choosing a professional is the level of ease and comfort that exists between you and your therapist. I am flexible, easy to talk to and have great interpersonal skills. My belief is that change management and transformation occur when people make decisions that are strategic and focused. I can assist you in dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, abuse, poor self-image, family problems and other issues that are stopping you from 'living' your life. What about your children? Are they being bullied? Learning development problems? Exhibiting 'at-risk' behaviours? I can help!

You promised yourself it would be different next time. But next time comes, and you can’t seem to break out of the patterns that are keeping you stuck. You aren’t sure where it comes from or how to break free from it. You want better for yourself but you just don’t know how to get there. I want you to know that it's possible and with the right support, you can get there. Hello, my name is Mai and I help sensitive and neurodivergent minds (ADHD, giftedness, Autistics, HSPs) work through anxiety, relationship issues, executive function and trauma.

I feel there is no one right path for self exploration. Some have that space via reading, spirituality, writing or something else. And for some it can take the form of therapy which is not just problem focused but rather person focused. At times, the motivation for self exploration comes from painful life events occurring outside us or other times it could be the overwhelming emotions building up within us. It can also be difficult to distinguish oneself from one’s difficulties and as a therapist I try to join you in your dialogue, confusion & difficulties. Therapy space is unique for it preserves space for the unspoken words too.

When you’ve endured narcissistic abuse or complex trauma, "thinking positive" isn't enough.
Beyond scratching the surface, we create a space to gently deconstruct the patterns holding you captive. This work involves quieting the harsh inner critic left behind by others and clearing the lingering fog of self-doubt. Together, we honor the toll your journey has taken, allowing your nervous system to finally feel safe again.

Many of the problems we experience in life can be traced back to parts of ourself that are wounded or not properly integrated. I help you to reflect and make sense of your experience, and to work through areas of your life that bring discomfort. In moving through these discomforts/stuck areas in a new way, you release these wounds, become free from their grasp & move into more aligned, embodied & authentic living. We cannot fully integrate (become whole in our life) unless we heal & integrate all parts - including shadow work, healing parental and childhood wounds, ego work, sacred sexuality, reprogramming belief systems etc.

Life isn’t always easy—whether you're adjusting to a new environment, working through relationship challenges, navigating school or work, managing daily stress, or facing the pain of loss. Every stage of life comes with its own complexities. I work with couples, immigrants, blended, and adoptive families who are navigating conflict, relational, and communication challenges. I also support children and individuals struggling with bullying, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I understand how isolating these experiences can be, especially when it feels like no one truly listens or understands.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
