Maybe you're here because you are struggling in your primary relationship; having the same old arguments with your partner, feeling disconnected & longing for more intimacy, or dealing with a difficult life event, such as a betrayal . Perhaps you're looking for help because you are feeling stressed out, anxious, and are tired of being so hard on yourself. Or maybe you're having a difficult time relating to family members or friends - unresolved tension with parents, feeling at sea with how to relate to your kids, or not feeling like you can relax & be yourself around others. The focus of my work is helping people with relationships.

I also specialize in working with Compulsive Sexual Behaviours such as porn use, serial hook ups and affairs , paying for sex, cyber sex, web-cams, and strip clubs.
I am looking for motivated clients who are willing to take action to resolve whatever needs to change in their life. My typical clients are looking for relief from stress, anxiety, depression, negative emotions, or difficult life situations. Some of them are struggling with compulsive behaviours and feel out of control. Others are in a relationship but things are not as good as they can be and they want more. Some of my clients are just looking to talk to someone who listens well, validates them and gives them another perspective. Sometimes they feel stuck and need tools, support and encouragement to help them move forward.

I feel there is no one right path for self exploration. Some have that space via reading, spirituality, writing or something else. And for some it can take the form of therapy which is not just problem focused but rather person focused. At times, the motivation for self exploration comes from painful life events occurring outside us or other times it could be the overwhelming emotions building up within us. It can also be difficult to distinguish oneself from one’s difficulties and as a therapist I try to join you in your dialogue, confusion & difficulties. Therapy space is unique for it preserves space for the unspoken words too.

Despite the beautiful and precious moments that we live through, there are points in life where we find ourselves feeling heavy with the weight of something on our shoulders. This heaviness may be depression, anxiety, or just a feeling we cannot put into words but still want to manage. You might feel like you are going through life alone. Your philosophy may have become tangled up and difficult to unravel. Therapy is a space where we can gently do the unravelling, together.

Most of us approach therapy with a mixture of hope & fear, for we desire a change but we also wonder if its truly possible. The reasons that bring you to therapy can vary, it could be depression, anxiety, grief, work related issues, relational issues, identity confusion, self jeopardising patterns or simply wanting to understand oneself better. Therapy helps you slowly but steadily change your unhelpful patterns, gain more clarity about yourself, develop better emotional capacity to digest & make sense of your inner conflicts so you can tackle the external challenges a lot better as well.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS******* Everyday life comes with struggles that often leave us feeling depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. We sometimes feel disconnected and in conflict with our spouses, family and friends and are looking for a way to cope better. However, what we really want is the opportunity to breathe. To be able to create space where we can slow down and act instead of react, to decide and choose instead of the choice being made for us.

As a South Asian Muslim woman, I have had the privilege of seeing the world through those identities and gained a deep understanding of the systems in play. I support individuals navigate through the struggles they experience in identity, relationships, emotional regulation, self-esteem, anxiety and other mental health issues. I also work with challenges related to faith, spirituality, cultural differences, and discrimination. If you can relate to these struggles and are looking for a way to navigate through this, I would be happy to create an environment that promotes growth and work towards a positive outcome.

Has life lost its “sparkle”? What used to bring you joy is now another thing “to do”? You have it all, yet feel like you are not meeting your potential. The frustration of working so much leaves no time for creativity and motivation. Thoughts of feeling stuck, not knowing what you like anymore because you spend your time catering to the needs of others. Feeling lost in the life you have cultivated for yourself? These are all common feelings if you are an independent person who is on an achievement plateau after meeting your familial and career goals.

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
