New Aug 2026: Are you 18 - 35 and stuck in patterns you understand but can’t seem to change? Maybe you were raised by emotionally immature or narcissistic parents, struggle to set boundaries, or feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions while ignoring your own. You might be in a codependent relationship or constantly stuck in fight, flight, or freeze mode. You intellectually knows what’s wrong - you’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, saved the tiktoks - but your body still reacts like you’re in survival mode. It’s exhausting to know what you need and still not be able to do it, or stick to it.

You might be feeling anxious, burned out, or not quite like yourself—and unsure how to shift things. It’s easy to get pulled into overthinking or feel stuck when stress builds over time. Ongoing family dynamics, low motivation, or past experiences that still carry weight can quietly shape how you’re feeling day to day. In therapy, we gently make sense of these patterns together. Using an integrative, evidence-based approach that considers thoughts, emotions, and the nervous system, we work toward greater clarity, steadiness, and a way forward that feels more like you. You don’t have to hold this on your own.

Coming to therapy is not an easy decision to make for some of us. One wonders if one's problems are "big" enough. Diagnostically some of these issues might be depression, unexplained anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, personality disorder, bipolar disorder and the like. On the inside it might look & feel like identity related issues, a sense of feeling "stuck", feeling of emptiness, difficulty in relationships, feeling not in control of oneself. Other times one might have had therapy in the past and feels that the gains made were short term and not lasting, and one desires a change in oneself that feels more lasting & substantial.

Mental health concerns often leave us feeling lost, helpless, and questioning who we are, no matter how they present themselves (as traumatic memories, anxious/intrusive thoughts, depressive spirals, relationship issues, low self-esteem, etc). I work with adults and youth from a trauma-focused, attachment-based lens that considers the mind/body connection, builds inner resilience, and improves self-image. My aim is to help you cope more effectively through new tools and strategies, and to heal the root cause of your mental health concerns to prevent symptoms from recurring and create long-term change in your life.

What are you in the midst of right now? Can you even label it? You know something is off, but you can't quite pinpoint the problem. You talk to family or friends about it, but somehow you still feel alone and manage to push through, because, well, that's what we do. Inside, you feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or uncertain why everything seems harder than it once did. What if you had a space to help you understand yourself with greater clarity so you can respond to life with intention instead of simply reacting to it?

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking healing, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change. Many come to therapy carrying the impacts of trauma, navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, grief, or the effects of systemic and social inequities on their well-being. Together, we explore both personal experiences and the broader contexts that shape them. Through a collaborative and compassionate approach, I support clients in reclaiming their voice, building on their strengths, developing new tools, and moving toward lives rooted in authenticity, connection, empowerment, and possibility

Life has such profound meaning. We were each created to live a thriving life of purpose and value, however there are several factors that can interfere with this. Factors like past trauma, societal issues, relational difficulties, life stressors, and lack of purpose. The beautiful thing is that when you are in a stuck place, there is a life of greater purpose and joy on the other side of your healing and breakthrough, greater than before. In our sessions we will explore the barriers you might be experiencing to living a full life of purpose, meaning, and joy and tackle them together to help you build a truly fulfilling life.

Others, find ACT's value clarification and flexibility helpful in defining their path forward.
You deserve a life that fulfills you, one with hope, rest, adventure and joy. Just as important, you deserve the the tools to cope when life is tough, because struggle is inevitable, but rarely permanent. You might feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, or in a role society expects you to play: caregiver, worker, partner, but you know you are more than the thing that takes up so much of your time. You might experience anxiety, overthinking, sadness or emptiness, and you want relief. You want to feel comfortable with your thoughts.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
