I provide therapy for teens and adults, with a particular focus on individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, addictions, or relationship concerns, including communication and boundaries.
Rather than telling you what to do, I help you find your own solutions based on your strengths and experiences. We may work on practical skills like communication, boundaries, or grounding, while also identifying unhelpful patterns such as self-criticism. The goal is to build confidence and help you make intentional choices for moving forward.

As a relational psychotherapist, I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are searching for meaning and new direction in their lives. Based on over 35 years of experience working with clients, I realize that there is no one method to be used with every client. Pulling on a wide range of modalities, including breath work and a body-mind awareness, I tailor our way of working based on the client's needs and issues. Also as a Jungian, I have come to understand the value of working with dreams in order to tune into the deep unconscious currents in the psyche.

I primarily work with men, first responders, and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, and relationship stress.
Therapy can feel foreign, especially if asking for help isn't easy. I work with individuals and couples, and I bring specific training in trauma (EMDR), anxiety, and relationships. But what clients come back and tell me isn't about any of that. It's that they felt genuinely heard. Therapy with me is direct and built around you specifically, not a formula.

Now accepting a limited number of new clients. Why not consider giving yourself the gift of awareness, kindness and long-lasting change? I practice with respect, mindfulness and compassion. I value emotional memories and honour inner wisdom and strength. My goal is to work with you to alleviate distress and build resilience. I work in partnership with you to develop tools and the practical "know how" to meet the current challenges of your life with calmness and confidence. We will also explore how past experiences are shaping current responses and how your brain can be "retrained" to react differently.

Most of us don’t enter adulthood feeling whole. We carry wounds we barely recognize, and sometimes it’s the smallest moment that stirs a deep emotional response we can’t quite explain. If you’ve been feeling stuck, weighed down by the past, or overwhelmed by the many roles and relationships in your life, you’re not alone. You may be noticing a growing disconnection from yourself or others, or facing a major life transition without knowing where to begin.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
