The educational system tends to focus on the “difference” and tries to “normalize” the other. Disability is a slippery slope of inadequacy, stigma, judgment, and oppression. I allow clients to embrace their disability and move beyond the label. I offer a neurodiversity and strengths-based approach to learning disabilities that allows clients to see their gifts. I’ve had 10 years of experience working with children and youth in various settings with a wide variety of needs such as Autism, learning disabilities, mental health, and behaviors. I offer individual mentoring sessions for the client that focus on self-esteem.

I believe everyone has a story, that every story matters and that when we are in pain our story must be heard. When we are suffering and feel we are alone or unheard, it can result in feelings of hopelessness, inferiority, and diminish our self esteem . It can impact our ability to cope with the demands of life, our ability to feel whole, to feel safe and can drain our physical and emotional energy. Therapy can help us move beyond this state. It is possible to find yourself...

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
