My specialty is in mental health including depression , anxiety, coping and life transitions.
I have worked in the field for over 30 years. My specialty is recovery-oriented services focusing on mental health. People need the opportunity to freely discuss, and heal from, their journey. I specialized for many years in vocational rehabilitation counseling. In addition, I am a breast cancer survivor. I have experienced first hand the grief, loss, and uncertainty of a life-altering illness. Teaching has honed my skills in offering knowledge and mentorship to those working on their personal or professional life plan. A compassionate, calm and open dialogue will build strength in coping and conviction in recovery.

I offer a variety of services concerning treating both neurodevelopmental disorders and psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression , psychotic disorders, trauma-related disorders and many more.
To develop clear insight of awareness towards our instinctual values, I believe it is critical to embrace, validate and acknowledge one’s individuality. Helping clients process the primary distinction between self-identity and where they want to be, is based on genuinely empathizing and understanding ways that we can best serve clients by applying therapeutic modalities that address their biological, physical and social constraints.

I see people who are struggling with depression , anxiety, addictions, adjustment to change in their lives, relationship or family conflict, or the residual pain left from difficult childhoods or painful life events. My way of working as a therapist is to get to know you: your hopes, your talents, your problems and your unique way of thinking and expressing yourself. We then proceed with treatment based on who you are and what you need. The aim is to allow coping with your weaknesses to help you uncover your strengths, and your way forward.

Sometimes our lives are out of balance. None of us exist in a bubble. We are a part of complex, often messy eco-systems that makes up our lives. Together we can shift the eco-system toward harmony once again. Whether it’s depression , loneliness, anxiety, or the stress of the modern world, we can make your goals attainable.

It is also often a significant contributing factor of anxiety, depression , PTSD, relationship issues, and more.
Welcome! As a therapist, I have the privilege of accompanying clients along their uniquely personal therapy journeys. My passion, training, and specialty lies in providing a safe and judgement-free space for traditional counselling, and trauma processing via EMDR and IFS. The origin of unprocessed trauma isn't always immediately clear, yet it changes how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. It can keep us in old and unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving while also limiting our ability to truly experience and embrace the present moment...where joy and love of new experiences and relationships happen.

Life is full of challenges, and by overcoming these challenges we can learn, grow, and discover things about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Sometimes though, these challenges become too much to handle. Perhaps we’ve experienced a loss, a major change, or a trauma, something that has taken away the sense of control over our lives and we find ourselves stuck and overwhelmed, no longer able to learn from life’s challenges, but feeling helpless to overcome them. For many of us, this sense of overwhelm leads to symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
