I address issues holistically considering family, trauma, health, spirituality and ongoing patterns.
Perhaps you're asking yourself the question, "can things be better than how they are now?" My resounding answer is yes! In fact, the pain you may be feeling, the sadness or anger, are signals that something is not right, and when we can connect with that, those feelings become the starting point for healing and transformation. We do not have to live as things are, there is hope for something better; and we all need help getting there. I hope for the opportunity to step into your difficulties, and together embark on change to discover the hope we all can have.

If you are growing weary in your efforts to please others and to feel safe in your own body, you are not alone. As a pre-licensed therapist under supervision, I support individuals who are seeking freedom from the weight of their own and others expectations. Perhaps you feel physically and emotionally overwhelmed, carrying a sense that your body is a stumbling block rather than a home. If you feel stuck in traditional talk therapy, I invite you into an inner transformation that feels sacred, creative, and authentically your own.

I support individuals facing a range of challenges, with some common themes including self-esteem, anxiety, culture, spirituality, and relationships.
Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in a loop of overthinking, self-criticism, intrusive thoughts, spiralling emotions, and overwhelm. Perhaps we are feeling disembodied, disconnected, and struggling to feel grounded amidst the strong winds of life. Whether you are navigating stress, difficulties in relationships, life transitions, or seeking meaning in suffering, I am here to support you in moving closer towards stability, connection, and wholeness.

You’ve spent too long fighting your body, feeling disconnected from yourself, or carrying the weight of cultural and family expectations. Maybe you’re navigating the silence around food, shame, and self-worth—or struggling with anxiety, grief, or tension in your relationships. You might look like you’re holding it together, but inside, it’s heavy. You want to feel at peace in your body, in your faith, and in your life. Psychotherapy can be a space to explore all of that—with honesty, compassion, and with no judgment.

One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story." I have dedicated my life to building a practice where people can come to a place of peace, where you feel comfortable and safe to unburden yourself about the most intimate and personal aspects of your life without the fear of being judged or shamed. This process allows you to shed the layers that keep you going in the same cycles and help you start a new, more fulfilling chapter in your life. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe a deep breath) to call and see how I can help.

You say yes when you mean no. You go over every text before sending. You sense the energy in every room before you've said hello, yet couldn't tell me what you need. From the outside you've got it together, the job, the relationship, the friend everyone calls at midnight. Inside you're running on empty. You've read the books and understand the concepts. But knowing doesn't always fix those exhausting patterns. Because they often rest in the body. And if the body has been on guard for a long time, it's still trying to protect you in the only way it knows how.

Pornography addiction. Anger management. Time management. Difficulties with your relationships be it with a spouse, a child, or a parent. These are all concerns that we can tackle. There are very few Muslim male therapists out there that have both training in Western psychology and Islamic psychology. Before being able to solve a problem, we need to first address where the problem is coming from. If you're able to do some of this before starting counselling, you'll be giving yourself a head start. Ask yourself, what am I doing right, and what can be improved.

Spirituality Counsellors
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
