I enjoy working with individuals on anger management, substance use, depression, and anxiety.
Currently accepting new clients. Many of my clients are veterans, first responders, and adults who have been carrying trauma and difficult experiences for years, in some cases most of their lives, without relief. They frequently feel stuck, that they can't process these experiences, and that their symptoms have taken over and keep them from doing the things that they love. They often want to move forward and reclaim their lives. In treatment I support them in this journey, coming from a place of compassion and understanding for what they carry, and seeing and accepting them for who they are right now.

You know you’re smart, but it doesn't always feel that way. Your mind jumps from one thing to the next, deadlines sneak up, & when you're overwhelmed even simple tasks can feel surprisingly heavy. Sometimes you compare yourself to others and it seems like everyone else is more focused, more productive, and further ahead than you are. You wonder what's wrong with you and, as that pressure builds, your confidence drops and relationships start to feel strained. If you're a college/university student or early career professional who wants to feel more organized, capable, confident, & in control, I can offer support & strategies to help.

The demands of parenting, work, and relationships can lead to anxiety, burnout, anger, or emotional disconnection.
Through our work, men develop the tools to become un-stuck in life, develop awareness, gain new tools, and are able to move on with a healthier outlook on their story. They also re-design relationships with themselves and those closest to them. I work with clients to not only address the symptoms, but also the root causes that have led them to this point.

I work with individuals who struggle to connect with themselves and others, experience strong emotions that at times feel out of control, including anxiety, anger and impulsivity, and those who have experienced emotional abuse, including narcissistic abuse.
Relationships and connections with others are an essential part of life. When those relationships cause us the most distress, where we do not feel emotionally safe nor loved without condition, we begin to question ourselves. We develop an amazing ability to categorize each problem and make ourselves believe that whatever is happening is not affecting us. When this coping strategy is applied, the body’s distress signals get disconnected from the mind.

I support individuals, families, and couples with relationship and marriage concerns, communication issues with a partner, anxiety, anger, depression, grief, ADHD, emotional regulation, men's issues, and life transitions.
You may feel stuck in a relationship or marriage where conversations turn into conflict or silence. With your partner, you might repeat the same arguments, feel misunderstood, or disconnected. Alongside this, anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm may affect work, school, or family life. You want clarity, calm, and a healthier way to communicate. Your goal is to feel more grounded, strengthen your relationship, improve couples dynamics, and build a life that reflects your values rather than constant pressure or frustration.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
