We are all on a journey, our own journey. Sometimes that journey has bumps, twists, turns, and roadblocks that are super tough. Having someone to ride along beside you on your journey, even just for a short time, can be helpful. I have 24+ years experience supporting young people with a variety of struggles including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, stress, behavioural struggles, emotional regulation, self-esteem, authentic self, parent-child relationships, and substance abuse. I love to walk young people through the exploration of their story and to encourage them to become the best version of themselves.

What makes therapy daunting for some is worry about opening up to someone they don’t know. Yes, I’m a therapist, but I am a human being who appreciates the beauty of deep social connections, and my true self is who you’ll meet sitting across from me. I know how it feels to be the client in the room - My hope is to encourage our relationship and work towards your desired goals on a foundation of trust, respect, and comfort. The human experience sure is a complex and vulnerable one, and I don’t take this for granted. I hope for our journey to be encouraging and healing, while helping you build trust and confidence within yourself.

At this time, I am only accepting new clients for couples / relational therapy. Attachment science has shown that we all want the same things-to be loved, accepted, safe, and connected. However, sometimes previous experiences have created patterns of self-protective behaviours that actually create/maintain distance from those we love. By identifying negative patterns and understanding how/why these behaviours are in place, clients can begin to heal from past wounds and embrace vulnerability, authenticity and improve relationships with themselves and the people most important to them.

Life is hard. Knowing what to do when you feel like giving up feels like an unreachable task. Everything keeps changing, shifting, and you're expected to change too. I've felt that way too, at times. Loss is all around, whether it's a job, a team you've said goodbye to, or others who have left just as quickly as they came. I am here to listen to your heart, and after, help you find a way through. It seems like everyone is looking for that next promotion, and you're not quite sure how to stand out and be the best candidate. I can help you articulate your message, to convey the best you.

Amidst a decades-long career in mental health, social work, and nursing, I’ve come to learn that there is a profound impact in being truly heard, understood and supported in your growth. Hello, and welcome! My name is Christine Loop. I specialize in supporting adults in mid and later life who face a crossroads: you may feel depleted, stuck, or invisible after years of holding relationships, families, and responsibilities together. Many of my clients are navigating long-term relationship endings, 'empty nest' syndrome, retirement transitions, grief, or other major life and health changes.

Do you struggle with feeling like you’re doing it all and it’s never enough? Have these feelings impacted your day-to-day life, relationships, or ability to enjoy life? Do you feel guilt or shame in your response to stressful situations? Do you question how life could be calmer and more meaningful? Now more than ever, people feel overwhelmed and struggle to create fulfilling and enriching lives. Not addressing your challenges can lead to negative consequences, such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or even physiological issues. I believe you can create a balanced life where you don’t feel like you’re running on empty.

I really enjoy working with clients motivated for growth and change, and curious about themselves; what makes them "tick". The depth of my craft involves creating and holding a therapeutic space or "container", enabling my clients to turn inwards and discover what moves them unseen. Patterns in personality and emotion emerge into view; emotional processes become unstuck and able to flow through to resolution. An inner space opens for something new. It is a tremendous honour and privilege to accompany and serve people on this journey as a trusted ally, a witness, and expert midwife of psychological change.

At different points in life, many of us seek greater insight and space to reflect on our emotions, relationships, and sense of identity. It’s common to feel caught in uncomfortable patterns, navigate disconnection, experience anxiety and stress, or long for growth and healing as life changes and unfolds. For many, this search is about being met with understanding, care, curiosity, and thoughtful support in a space where experiences can be explored and held without judgment. I aim to offer a safe and supportive space where experiences are normalized, insight can deepen, and understanding can grow at your own pace.

You’re constantly scanning for danger, replaying conversations, overthinking decisions, and trying to quiet a nervous system that feels stuck on high alert. Your chest tightens, your stomach drops, and suddenly you’re spiraling through “what if” after “what if” especially when it comes to your health. You hold it together on the outside, but inside you’re exhausted, wired, and waiting for the next wave of anxiety to hit. You just want calm, clarity, and a break from feeling constantly on edge.

July 2026 - You're a woman in your 20's or 30's with ADHD and/or anxiety. You have difficulty regulating big emotions, have a really hard time saying "no", or saying what you truly mean. You're exhausted from putting on a "mask" to get through each day, being a chameleon in order to not let anybody down. You have a hard time making decisions, and feel like your body is stuck in fight-or-flight. You've tried all the things - exercise, meditation, affirmations, daily planners - but nothing seems to help. It's starting to impact your most important relationships - be it romantically, with family, friends, school or work

Is life feeling overwhelming? Are you struggling to find motivation to do simple tasks, or the idea of doing ‘all the things’ just increases your stress and anxiety? Perhaps you find yourself needing to distract with substances, social media, or by binge watching your favourite TV show, only to find that these activities are not actually making you feel better in the long run. Maybe you are already wanting to explore the underlying causes of what has gotten you off track but don’t know where to start.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counselling

How can I find a therapist in Norwich?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, postal code, or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postal code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
