However you arrived here, I’m glad you did. Reaching out for support isn’t always easy. You might be here because something feels heavy. Maybe you’ve been carrying a lot on your own or perhaps things have felt harder than they should lately. You might not even be sure of what you need quite yet.
I provide a safe, curious space where we can untangle what's weighing on you and begin to make sense of what’s been feeling hard or overwhelming.

I believe that every person has the strength and resilience to navigate life's challenges, even when they may not feel that way. My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.
With over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families, I have worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and major life transitions.

I primarily work with men who struggle to express their vulnerabilities and emotions—especially to their partners. Many of my clients come to therapy weighed down by fear, anxiety, past trauma, addiction, ADHD challenges, or deep loneliness, unsure of how to talk about what they’re going through without feeling judged or misunderstood.
In our sessions, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your emotions openly. When you feel secure, it becomes easier to face painful experiences, understand your patterns, and take ownership of your feelings.

I offer therapy sessions in-person, on a safe sofa, or online via video.
My ideal client is someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or others. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, or a lingering sense that something isn’t quite right — even if they can’t fully put it into words. Often, they are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who have tried to “push through” on their own but are now realizing they don’t want to carry everything alone anymore.
What they need most is not to be fixed, judged, or rushed, but to be understood. They want a space where they can slow down, reflect, and make sense of their inner world without blame

My clients are individuals who appear to be managing on the outside but feel stuck internally. They often struggle with low self-esteem, identity confusion, overthinking, perfectionism, or people-pleasing. They may also be navigating the impact of cultural expectations and environments that haven’t always felt affirming. I aim to help folks understand the patterns keeping you stuck, reconnect with themselves, and build a more grounded, confident sense of identity.

Sessions are available online each weekday and in person on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Parenting is hard, and no matter how much we ask, it doesn’t come with a manual. Childhood anxiety, depression, ADHD, teenage angst and everyday challenges are on the rise and learning where to go for help can be overwhelming. Despite our efforts, the resulting feelings of frustration and despair are very real. I have been there myself and understand that, like with learning any new skill, parenting takes work. Learning tools and applying them consistently while faced with numerous challenges requires support, compassion and gentle guidance. What's important to know is that you are not alone and that there is support available.

It is so natural to feel the overwhelming weight of unwanted emotions. It causes us to push them away to prevent more pain and act in ways that in the moment feel better, but ultimately lead to suffering. Colleen strongly understands that a wealth of factors contribute to the challenge of sitting with strong feelings. Working out of Tapestry Psychology & Clinical Services, Colleen is committed to helping people learn to identify their feelings and embrace what each has to offer, in a way that puts you in control of how you engage with them.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
